Saturday, September 29, 2007. Goodbye, Wonder Bar. The Wonder Bar, Asbury Park. Originally uploaded by TheJerseyTomato. Is closing its doors this weekend for the last time. After over 50 years of providing the area with good company, drinks, and music, it will be demolished by those loving Asbury Partners who have decided that a viable business which is loved by the community and supports the community is not as important as oceanfront condos. A big Princess Bride booooo to Asbury Partners. Hmmmm someone...

It's the first time that the off-Broadway hit is being performed in NJ. I have to admit, I'm a bit of a HedHead. Ever since I saw the original cast on MTV with Kurt Loder back in 1999 and had to buy the cast album the next day. So when I happened upon this performance, Lucky and I had to go. Rockaway Bedding, yah.

Monday, January 29, 2007. This week marks the 10th anniversary of my father's death. I can't believe it's been that long; I can't believe it's only been that long. Time is weird that way. We are gathering as a family on Friday to watch Groundhog Day. It was my dad's favorite film; after having the stroke, it was a film that was easy for him to grasp plus it's funny. We actually contemplated going to PA to celebrate the actual Punxsutawney Phil. Thursday, January 18, 2007. I receive the NJ My Way. Atlanti...

Friday, February 24, 2006. Saw Billy, Now What? Anyways, this concert completes our initial list of "People to see before they die" . So what next? Are we missing someone? Friday, February 17, 2006. As many of you might already know, my little brother wrote an article for the Spring 2005 Rutgers Law Review, entitled "The New Star Chamber: The New Jersey Family Court and the Prevention of Domestic Violence Act". It's also been getting some nice buzz around the nation's capital. Since they don't want to be...

Saturday, October 27, 2007. Happy All Hallows Eve! Originally uploaded by TheJerseyTomato. Not big on the whole "not celebrating Halloween because it's a day of the devil." Yes, it started out as a pagan holiday (first Celtic then Roman) before it was adapted by the Christians. but pagans don't believe in the devil so how can it be his holiday? PS: On Nov. 2, don't forget to go to your local Ecuadorian bakery to celebrate Ecuadorian Day of the Ancestors. Get some yummy guaguas de pan.

Friday, August 04, 2006. WTC Movie. Not Ready Yet. Oliver Stone's movie "World Trade Center". Will be opening next week. I won't be in the ticket line. Do I have a personal connection with the 9/11 attack? Two years later, seeing a 9/11 widow with a 2 and a half year old baby girl getting on with her life and dating my friend. I know it's important to capture history as soon as possible. And many people in the Midwest who I spoke with days after the attack, really didn't understand the scope of the d...
