Udimore Wildlife Society was formed in April 2011 under the banner of Udimore Parish Council’s Local Action Plan. Members share a common interest in observing and protecting our local wildlife in an enjoyable social context. Udimore stands in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and enjoys a considerable natural biodiversity, with several sites of Special Scientific Interest, ancient woodlands,. Rumours have existed for some year that Red Kites are to be found locally. April 2011 brought a small number of sightings on both the Tillingham and Brede sides of the Udimore ridge.
