Twistedclassicsblog – knitwear and nature. Bittern hiding in Lee Valley Country Park. March 2, 2016. March 4, 2016. Posted in Bird photography. Recently I went on a very cold “birding” walk in the Lee Valley Country Park. I stopped for sandwich lunch in the Bittern hide and everyone there was very excited because an elusive Bittern had been spotted. I thought I could see something moving in the distance, so pointed my camera with the longest zoom it could manage and hoped for the best. Leave a Reply Canc...

Twistedclassicsblog – knitwear and nature. July 19, 2016. July 19, 2016. I love pansies and have used them as inspiration in the past for intarsia hand knits. Pansy patterned hand knitted cotton bolero. I am not growing any of my own pansies at the moment, so have taken the photograph below from the internet. The following photographs show various pansy designs on vintage hand knitted cardigans and sweaters from around the early 2000’s. Pansy and cable patchwork squares on hand knitted cardigan. I have a Bengal, a Big Dog, and Far to Go…. Saints and Sages Sunday. April 26, 2015. June 8, 2016. The Prayer of Saint Francis. Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love;. Where there is injury, pardon;. Where there is doubt, faith;. Where there is despair, hope;. Where there is darkness, light;. Where there is sadness, joy. O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek. To be consoled as to console,. To be understood as to understand,. To be loved as to love;.

Photography, gardening, and wildlife. Sneaking up on birds. On February 17, 2015. Posted in: Photo set. My birds are getting more and more use to me in the garden, and I’m getting better at creeping up on them! I’ve been lucky enough to get close enough to take the photos in this post. I didn’t need camouflage or to wait ages either, though I have done that. I’m quite pleased with the robin one, he popped out of the laurel really near me to see if I had brought food I think! The adventures of a zoologist in the Inner Hebrides www.sarafrost.webs.com. Monthly Archives: December 2014. December 11, 2014. By My Wild Life. Well the last few weeks have been fairly busy sorry to have been away for so long! I’ve been working down in Bristol for a month on some wildlife filming projects. While there I went to the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition which was fantastic (well worth a visit if you can) and met some of the lovely BBC Wildlife Magazine team! A whitetip reef shark.
