Postcards from Germany

Tuesday, July 21, 2009. Ich hätte durch die Bürokratie schneiden, aber wo liegt die Schere? So, after a very interesting side trip to Political Land (wedged between the Harvey the Rabbit's House and a traffic-free L.A.), PfG is back to doing what it does best: unpacking cultural dilemmas and travel blogging. Assuming, of course, that is what this blog does best. Or perhaps another country? Or is this experience perhaps unique to the Bundesrepublik. Friday, July 3, 2009. Postcards from Germany: September 2008

http://willgoestogermany.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html

Sunday, September 28, 2008. Where's My Silver Lining Dammit? So, despite my best efforts to attend arguably one of. S most revered and tourist-frequented social events, namely Oktoberfest, I have been thwarted. For the third time in as many weekends my social calendar has been destroyed by poor planning, destitution, and Fate. Sigh. Utterly awesome. It was a little awkward, in that. I’m sure Adam had an awesome time at Oktoberfest, clearly it was a ton of fun. So where was my silver lining? As the title ...

Postcards from Germany: Wie amerikanisch bin ich? Questions...

http://willgoestogermany.blogspot.com/2009/05/wie-amerikanisch-bin-ich-questions.html

Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Wie amerikanisch bin ich? My questions for the readers out there: How do I reconcile the two of these ideas? Is there some sort of middle ground, particularly when there is no geographic middle ground? Another thing I have been ruminating on is the idea of a "reverse culture shock", an idea my roommate and close associates have discussed. Can I successfully reintegrate into an academic milieu so much more defined and regimented than Germany? May 27, 2009 at 10:55 AM. It is nice to ...

Postcards from Germany: December 2008

http://willgoestogermany.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html

Tuesday, December 9, 2008. From Brussels With Love. And, as the title might suggest, this blog marks the first in a multi-part travel series! I hope to capture the essence of my madcap adventures throughout Europe and give all the folks back home something to talk about. In all, an amazing weekend. Monday, December 1, 2008. Alive and Kicking in the Frozen North. Does it work the same way for someone in America? Hmmm Harder still to believe that Christmas is so soon! Where have my three months gone?

Postcards from Germany: (Another) Night at the Museum...

http://willgoestogermany.blogspot.com/2009/02/another-night-at-museum.html

Sunday, February 1, 2009. Another) Night at the Museum. This time, as I said above, took me to some amazing exhibits, though mostly with an animal theme. Regrettably scheduling difficulties got us on the road late, but our first stop was at the German Natural History Museum. I don't know if you gentle readers have ever made it as far as New York to see the American Natural History Museum, but Berlin's could certainly give it a run for its money. February 1, 2009 at 9:55 PM. Another) Night at the Museum.

Will goes to China

Will goes to China. A Blog to Chronicle my Adventure of a Lifetime. Sunday, October 19, 2008. Follow my new blog! Friday, August 22, 2008. China was hard, but so much fun. This blog claiming that anyone who read it would be doing it out of pity. Now I've heard that for some people, reading this has become a part of their daily routine (and only one of those people was my mom). Following my stories, a habit! But all things must come to an end. I've done a lot since I left. I was rerouted. That's silly, I ...

Will goes to College

Will goes to College. Your mom goes to college. Saturday, July 11, 2009. My $5,800 Blog Entry. And why are there people so conservative that fascism can erupt at the emergence of a Hitler? The essay only had to be 1,500 words long, but I didn't have time to read all the arguments about systematic ideology enough to enter. I put it on the backburner, saying to myself that next year I would look at it again. And then I got to thinking. I had just had a dry editorial. An online video contest. It ended up be...

Will Goes to India

Will Goes to India. Friday, 23 March 2012. By this time, some girls had. Loads of curry, some naans, and those dip things at the beginning, but bring loads of the mango one cos noone likes any of the others anyway,' I shouted. Then I did a funny: 'Bring twelve bottles of your cheapest white wine - and for the girls? And all that Wherry was beginning to catch up with me. The food still hadn't arrived, so I started berating a nearby attendant, and whilst my attention was focused on giving the man a goo...
