Embracing the Mundane: Laundry Room / Mud Room
http://www.graciouslymundane.com/2013/06/laundry-room-mud-room.html
Laundry Room / Mud Room. I think this is by far my favorite room in the house at this time. I had no idea that I would love doing laundry. I even want to spend time drinking my coffee in this cozy little room. Crazy! I am just about completed the room. Still waiting on baskets from Pottery Barn to go under the cubbies and a wicker tray for my laundry soap, etc. I just got the mirrors put on the glass French doors a few days ago and love the sparkle! Here are a few pictures of the room so far. Before the ...

Embracing the Mundane: OUR CLASSROOM
http://www.graciouslymundane.com/p/our-home-school_06.html
My teenager still does her studies in the kitchen which is certainly fine by me. It is nice to have a change of scenery with being home all day. So I thought I would post some picture of our classroom (as we call it). I am always so curious of other homeschooling families and how/where they homeschool. I have been looking at so many pictures and have collected so many ideas. So, mine is a work in progress but it is coming along. We have just recently started to implement the workbox system. Here. Is the ...

Embracing the Mundane: The Study of James
http://www.graciouslymundane.com/2013/07/the-study-of-james.html
The Study of James. I began this study not knowing exactly what I was getting myself into. Also, not really even knowing the book of James at all or even anything about James. Hard to admit that I have skimmed over his writings and not really thought about them very long. That is until now. That is what James is all about for me. Showing me that my faith is more that just a belief in God but rather actions of that faith. How has Jesus and the Bible changed me? Am I living out my faith? Anger that erupts ...

http://www.graciouslymundane.com/2013/06/kitchen-update-almost-done.html
Kitchen update . almost done! I haven't posted any new pictures of the kitchen. We actually were able to "use" it a bit over the past few days. However, right now we are having the floors re-sanded and polished. Amazing! I decided to go with a bit darker color and love the it! Here are a few pictures of the whole process once the painting was completed! Floor still not done in the laundry room . but just wait . those brick pavers are a dream! This is what I like to call my "pretty" chair. I love it!

Embracing the Mundane: SCHOOL AT HOME
http://www.graciouslymundane.com/p/our-curriculum.html
My favorite approach to teaching my children has been through the wonderful teachings of Charlotte Mason. I am a firm believer in learning through living books and not through textbooks. It has taken me a few years to develop my own sense of security in how my children learn best. Here is what we are currently using in our homeschool journey:. International Children's Field Bible. Big Truth's for Little Kids. This Is Now Devotional. The Power of a Praying Teen. A Child's Book of Character Building.
