However, the ship did not respond to wireless messages or the Morse lamp. Distress rockets were streaming into the sky, and still the mystery ship did not come to their aid. Inexplicably, it turned away and sailed into the distance until its lights could no longer be seen. Was in fact the immigrant transport ship.
