Monday, 31 January 2011. Today i started mastering my piece. I may still add instruments but for now I wanted to get rid of the muddiness I was experiencing. I used a spread, channel EQ, Dirmix, Silver Gate, Silver Compression and a multipress to really tighten up my piece without losing the space between individual tracks. Monday, 22 November 2010. Tupac vs Tom Morello. During most of the lesson I was trying to fill the space that was in my introduction. I tried to find a scratching sample in Logic with no real joy, so looked to the work of Tom Morello! I muted the strings at the 22nd fret and scratched the strings over the pic-ups to create a DJ like scratching sound. At first I was happy with the idea and the first outcome but later realised that this wasn't the effect I wanted or needed. Thursday, 18 November 2010.

Monday, 17 January 2011. Now that the main structure for my piece is written I am now concentrating on creating a really authentic hip hop sound. I am now planing on adding more instruments to the piece to get that 1 million pound production sound. all vocals are complete aswell as drums, samples and piano of the original structure. Thursday, 13 January 2011. SEAL KNOCK ON WOOD. Whilst self reflecting during the christmas holidays I realised that my piece wasn't to my usual stunning standard, so i came back and scraped the work i had and now have the bare minimum to work with. So i have re-recorded the drums and bass as these are the main characteristics of soul music. I now have the lovely task of filling in the gaps with guitars and such.
