The Downing Family: March 2010
http://thedowningfive.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 21, 2010. What a beautiful day! The kids had Friday off which was so nice. Grandma and Papa stopped by to wish Hannah a happy birthday. She got a lot of cool things - including many crafts which will keep her busy for a long time. My friend Christine brought Hannah a necklace, bracelet, and earrings she made herself. They are beautiful and Hannah loves them. Getting ready for the party . . . Alec had Colin over. Before the girls arrived I instructed him to leave the girls alone. The morning...

The Downing Family: June 2010
http://thedowningfive.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 21, 2010. Alec turned 11 May 27th. It has been exciting to watch Alec blossom this year. He has gained a lot of confidence and had so much fun in choir and with acting. He actually was asked to try out for a part in Ragttime at the Village Theater in Issaquh and for a part in a Seattle Symphony/Fifth Avenue production this spring! His music and choir teacher was incredible this year and showed Alec (and us) just how talented he is. Before this, it really was a hidden talent!

The Downing Family: October 2010
http://thedowningfive.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 2, 2010. First Day of School - 4th and 6th Grade. Hannah's transition to fourth grade was a piece of cake. She knew she had a nice teacher. She has good friends in her class. She was ready to start her year. Alec, on the other hand, was contemplating homeschooling or dropping out I think. After some more coaxing he got on the bus with Brian. Then, David and I get texts to meet him at the school. By the time he got there, he had texted us again to say he was okay. My armpits are sweaty?

The Downing Family: Love Halloween
http://thedowningfive.blogspot.com/2010/11/love-halloween.html
Friday, November 5, 2010. When I was a kid I didn't really like Halloween. My sister is six years older than me so she was through with trick-or-treating when I was little. My mom always had plenty of candy around the house so I really didn't care about that. However, my mom did. She wanted me to go out and get more! I remember one year I didn't even have a costume so we just put some fake blood on my face and out I went. At least this is the way I remember it? The kids had fun with Brian and Katie.

Saturday, October 2, 2010. Taiko Drums - Ms. Hinami. It is October so I guess it is time to finish up the summer postings! Life has been just a bit busy with the kids back in school, Alec transitioning to middle school life, and me going back to the classroom for the first time in nine years. No time for blogging until now. Maybe that's a good sign. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Alec, Hannah, Lori, David. First Day of School - 4th and 6th Grade. Taiko Drums - Ms. Hinami.

The Downing Family: February 2010
http://thedowningfive.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 26, 2010. I went with some of my teacher friends to see Legally Blond at the 5th Avenue last week. First we went to The Wild Ginger for dinner which was fabulous. We then went to the theater. We got our seats at a "teacher discount." Apparently, they must assume teachers have good eyes, because we were in the second to last row! We moved up several rows at intermission. Oh well, it was a cute, upbeat show and we had fun time! The weather was so beautiful for February! It was a three mile...
