Website by Maggie Lau. Peg lamp was inspired by the traditional wooden clothes peg. The lamp uses minimal materials and a simple mechanism to provide adjustability. The user can easily position the light at the height and angle needed. The dowel is held in place by both the tensioned aluminum and cushioned friction of the felt. Raw wood, 100% wool felt, LEDs, and aluminum were chosen to help reduce the environmental impact of the lamp. Sketches and CAD model used in development.

Website by Maggie Lau. TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding torches are used for precise welding of aluminum and other metals. This redesign of the TIG welding torch aims to solve many of the issues TIG welders encounter when using traditional torches. The project took fourteen weeks and involved research into the profession of welding, interviews with welders, conceptual development, ergonomic testing, form development and modeling of a looks-like prototype. The home page features a clean graphic layout with simple navigating menu. Background image and banners feature dynamic motorcycle lifestyle photos. The mobile version features a different menu interface and layout optimal for small screens. Different colour banner images are used to differentiate each type of helmet page (full face vs motocross, etc) to aid in navigation.

Website by Maggie Lau. The user can easily repair the lamp as it uses common bicycle components including a freewheel cog, chain and bearing. Replacement parts can be purchased locally and bicycle technology is typically understood by most users. The user can easily customize the lamp by choosing their own paper or material for the diffuser. This personalization makes the lamp more versatile and will increase the lifespan of the product by adapting to rapidly changing trends.
