The Boat Trip Years. When, Where, Who. . .but not Why! The New Year Trips. After the first winter trip the Inland Waterways Society decided to try again with a trip in Easter 1972. It was not a great success as far as bookings went because half the prospective crew decided to organise their own boat instead, leaving the boat only half full.
