will travel for yarn: September 2009

http://willtravelforyarn.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Will travel for yarn. Saturday, September 26, 2009. Stitch and Pitch 2009. This was a QUICK trip to St. Louis for Stitch and Pitch. I am always amazed at how MANY knitters come out for this event! The Cardinals played the Marlins and won 11-6.I worked on my plain vanilla sock so that I could pay attention to what was going on around me (i.e. checking out what everyone else was knitting and chatting). Pattern: Toe-Up Socks with Gusset Heel by Wendy Johnson. Yarn: Knitterly Things Vesper Sock Yarn.

Thank you Rossana, Stephanie, and Holly for making feel so welcome! I started yet another Wendy Johnson Toe Up. With Neighborhood Fiber Co. A few hours later, Amy. will travel for yarn: Happy New Year!

http://willtravelforyarn.blogspot.com/2010/01/happy-new-year.html

Will travel for yarn. Saturday, January 9, 2010. I have come to the realization that making unsound resolutions is frankly, just plain ridiculous. Why make a resolution that you KNOW will never happen? Why not call them wishes? Anyway, I've decided this year to make reasonable resolutions. Reasonable resolutions that I KNOW I can accomplish easily. So, here goes. I am going to knit as many socks as I want! Yarn: Stalwart Sock by Slackford Studio LLC. Started: January 1, 2009. Cast on: Judy's Magic Cast On.

MoCrafty: It will take me a long time to decorate my walls

http://mocrafty.blogspot.com/2010/11/it-will-take-me-long-time-to-decorate.html

Crafty Stuff, Design Stuff, Dog Stuff, Cool Stuff, Stupid Stuff. Friday, November 26, 2010. It will take me a long time to decorate my walls. The last place I lived in was barely 1200 square feet (I know that to someone in New York that sounds ginormous but where I live it is near minuscule). It was a duplex that was built in 1927. My favorite part of that house was the lovely arch that separated the living room and the dining room/office. My empty living room walls. This is my latest little collection t...

MoCrafty: IKEA Hack Cat Cabinets

http://mocrafty.blogspot.com/2011/05/ikea-hack-cat-cabinets.html

Crafty Stuff, Design Stuff, Dog Stuff, Cool Stuff, Stupid Stuff. Monday, May 30, 2011. IKEA Hack Cat Cabinets. You cat owners out there know that stylish, affordable cat furniture is hard to find. If you have dogs and cats there are very few contraptions that keep dogs out of the litter and kitty food. Beavis hacked some really cool IKEA cabinets to create a kitty litter containment locker and a private dining room for our two cats. Pepper couldn't wait for her new groovy kitty condos. Its up and I final...

MoCrafty: I don't need OxiClean, I have paint and freezer paper!

http://mocrafty.blogspot.com/2011/09/i-dont-need-oxiclean-i-have-paint-and.html

Crafty Stuff, Design Stuff, Dog Stuff, Cool Stuff, Stupid Stuff. Wednesday, September 14, 2011. I don't need OxiClean, I have paint and freezer paper! It doesn't matter what I'm wearing, I always manage to spill something on myself. In fact, I have a salsa stain from today's lunch on my shirt right now. Usually the stains come out in the wash but every now and then I'm stuck with them. So, I decided to make some lemonade out of lemons and save a t-shirt. The stain has magically disappeared! A shirt, duh!

Crafty Stuff, Design Stuff, Dog Stuff, Cool Stuff, Stupid Stuff. Friday, January 28, 2011. Awesome Workshop with Jenine Bressner. I was so fortunate to attend a Ruffled Accessories workshop last weekend with the artist, Jenine Bressner. Jenine is a fantastic glass, fiber and all other kinds of media artist. She's also a really cool, crafty chick. If you are in the Houston area, check out her exhibit at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. The workshop was great! Tuesday, January 18, 2011. http://mocrafty.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Crafty Stuff, Design Stuff, Dog Stuff, Cool Stuff, Stupid Stuff. Thursday, December 30, 2010. I have a thing for magnets and ephemera. I love random post cards, stickers I can't bear to stick to anything and cutouts from magazine ads. For awhile I used my refrigerator as my collage canvas. It was OK but a little messy. When I moved about a year ago I acquired a new stainless steel fridge. Most of my magnets did not stick. Crap! So, I came up with this:. A word to the wise. magnetic paint stinks! Do your ...

MoCrafty: July 2010

http://mocrafty.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Crafty Stuff, Design Stuff, Dog Stuff, Cool Stuff, Stupid Stuff. Wednesday, July 7, 2010. The mighty bath mitt! OK, perhaps the bath mitt isn't so mighty but it sure is handy. I wrote up this knitting pattern for a class I'm teaching to newbie knitters. If you can cast on, knit, purl and bind off, you can make this bath mitt which would also work as a dish cloth or car washing scrubby. Astound and impress your friends by giving gifts of fancy bath stuff accompanied by hand-knitted goodies.

MoCrafty: Occasional Seamstress

http://mocrafty.blogspot.com/2011/07/occasional-seamstress.html

Crafty Stuff, Design Stuff, Dog Stuff, Cool Stuff, Stupid Stuff. Sunday, July 24, 2011. When it comes to sewing I'm either totally crazy, can't get enough, stay up until 2AM to finish a project or, well, .eh. I don't sew often but when I do, I finish several projects within a day or two. My projects tend to be small, house or accessory related stuff. No clothing or anything that has to be perfectly tailored. God help me when I have to hem a pair of pants (which happens often when one is 5'1"). The patter...
