I really struggled to find motivation to pick up a brush; but I spent my time refining my Gingerbread and Pfeffernüsse recipes. Sunday, June 28, 2015. I'm doing something I haven't done before - experimenting with my craft, rather than producing work for exhibition and sale. I starting this new process by playing with some ideas about how I go about my tradecraft. This work draws on the Flemish many layered process that includes the dark warm ground, verdaccio/grisaille, piambura (dead layer) and houding (red/green warm/cool shaping). For the grisaille I'm trying Payne's Grey : - It just feels more contemporary (so far).

It had to be tough to get noticed in that crowd. What I noticed right away was that Adams paint application was juicier, even though his rendering was as tight as it needed to be, Plus he's got a good sense of humor.
