Using stuff in novel ways

Using stuff in novel ways. Monday, January 4, 2010. So, yesterday after a nice lunch with our small group, I stopped by the library for some cheap used books (25¢). After looking for a hard cover book with a title I could live with, I ended up with Queen, the Life and Music of Dinah Washington. I have no idea if it is a good book or not because I cut out most of the content. I glued the wood in the cutout section of the book and clamped it until the wood glue cured. You can never have enough clamps.

Using stuff in novel ways: March 2008

http://wilyhacker.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html

Using stuff in novel ways. Tuesday, March 11, 2008. Of Mice and Corn. This past weekend our church had an open gym outreach event: inflatable bouncy things for the kids; volleyball, basketball, and corn hole for the adults. Earlier in the week I went to check on my bags to see if any needed to be repaired. I took one look in the bag and now I had the answer for the question from the previous weekend: "Why is there popcorn in my boots? Cornhole is played with 4 bags for each team. My sets have 5!

Using stuff in novel ways: May 2008

Using stuff in novel ways. Tuesday, May 6, 2008. As a software engineer, I am often faced with the responsibility that when bugs are found to hunt out the source of the bugs and eradicate them. My wife wishes I could do the same for the ants in the kitchen, but no such luck yet. My bug creation is fairly small. If you want to see some big bugs, check out the current exhibit at the Morton Arboretum. It's a good thing I'm not trying to evict those ants from my kitchen. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Using stuff in novel ways: July 2008

http://wilyhacker.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html

Using stuff in novel ways. Friday, July 4, 2008. One of my favorite things about summer is all of the extra time to grill. Now, don't get me wrong, I grill all winter long. It's just a lot easier to grill during the summer. Tomorrow I'm going to spend the afternoon tending to a brisket on my grill. Using only a small portion of the cotton yarn from the mop head, I fashioned myself a decent BBQ mop. In fact I was quite proud of my handiwork. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Using stuff in novel ways: Kitchen Clocks

http://wilyhacker.blogspot.com/2008/12/kitchen-clocks.html

Using stuff in novel ways. Friday, December 26, 2008. For most electronics these days, it's the little extra features that make people go "Wow! Or "I've got to have it." But one thing that has become ubiquitous on everything is a clock. Here are the clocks in our kitchen. But my wife must really be driven by the clock (Not! Confused look. :-) The final package had the clock mechanism, but it still wasn't obvious what I was up to. It turned out really nice! December 26, 2008 at 5:23 PM.

Using stuff in novel ways: Halloween Creativity

http://wilyhacker.blogspot.com/2008/11/halloween-creativity.html

Using stuff in novel ways. Tuesday, November 4, 2008. This year Halloween had the usual activities going on at our house: pumpkin carving, costumes, lots of sugar. When my girls picked out pumpkins, one already had in mind that she wanted to make a Larry pumpkin. When we finally got around to carving them, her sister decided that her pumpkin would make a great Bob. LOVE Bob and Larry! Then I remembered your blog name. =]. Have a great day! SECOND EDITION: Firewalls and Internet Security: Repelling the Wily Hacker

Firewalls and Internet Security:. Repelling the Wily Hacker. William R. Cheswick. Steven M. Bellovin. And Aviel D. Rubin. The long-awaited second edition is here! It's a complete rewrite of the first edition, considerably longer - 455 pages instead of 320 - and somewhat different in focus. It had better be, given how the Internet has changed since 1994. The best way to explain that is to note that the very last section added to the first edition was about this new-fangled thing called the Web.

The life and times of Eric, Jenni, Jeneric and Toddler Wily. Monday, March 26, 2012. A photo by Wily Jeneric. Any guesses what Wily is pretending to be? Hint 1: They were the class topic for a week at school. Hint 2: Apparently they have green teeth. Hint 3: Under no circumstances have I been able to convince either Wily or Jeneric that I can pretend to be one. Posted by Wily Jeneric. Tuesday, October 25, 2011. Now we are 3! Somebody had a birthday and we figured before somebody else. How to make crackers.
