Windjammer 3: August 2010

http://www.windjammer08.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Monday, 23 August 2010. Long Island Sound is fringed by glamorous mansions and lush greenery. Its waters are awash with impressive motor boats and snappy launches. Smart sailboats with impeccable white sails lean into a perfect breeze, crisscrossing our path. Artistic lighthouses dot the landscape. Ah, only in America…. We hurried on (under motor) to our first destination, sidestepping the inevitable crab pots, to Oyster Bay. A Long Island Mansion. Yeah - cold, wet weather at last! A satellite communicat...

Windjammer 3: Sharin' with Barefoot & Fatty Knees

http://www.windjammer08.blogspot.com/2010/10/sharin-with-barefoot-fatty-knees_25.html

Monday, 25 October 2010. Sharin' with Barefoot and Fatty Knees. A most kissable nose. Well, the Motleys are in the Deltaville Boat Yard. Windjammer is all hauled out and propped up near some big, sheltering pine trees. Our Cap'n is busy winterising and GS is cleaning and oiling timber - none of it fun! We are scheduled to fly out in a few days, so this is most definitely the last post of the season. A real windjammer on (a grey day) Chesapeake. Deltaville Boatyard. WJ3 and our flash bikes.

Windjammer 3: July 2010

http://www.windjammer08.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Monday, 26 July 2010. A Short Message from Boy Wonder. G'day Cap'n Speedo,. Yes, happy something birthday. I've lost count after your 50th, so i'll just asume its somewhere around that figure. I will have a beer this evening on your behalf. Hows everything, sailed anywhere yet or are you still pulling the boat apart to find that one rusty bolt that could cause a leak in maybe 15 years? Take it easy,. And then I saw it.blurp! Recovering a lost mooring ). Little help from an electronics technician! Names h...

Thursday, 13 January 2011. WJ3 is moving again, but only over the airwaves. This site will remain, with some photos added (. Soon, soon I promise. As a record of our voyages 2008 to 2010. Otherwise, join us on our continuing adventures. And just in case you were wondering. NO, that is NOT our backyard. The Cap'n would have walked the plank long ago if it was. Windjammer 3: February 2012

http://www.windjammer08.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Sunday, 19 February 2012. Starting Over and Over. A new day and a new start for an old blog. WJ3: 2008-2010. Will be "under construction" for a little while as we massage all the old posts from Typepad into this bloggersphere. You'll notice that I have ended up with 2 of each post, some published and some not! That was after weeks of trying to import the old files and getting nothing. If you want to have a bash at importing, then try. From Classical Bookworm. Even us non-geeks are left with some hope!

On the Spur Quilting : February 2015

http://onthespurquilting.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

On the Spur Quilting. What we do in life echoes in eternity (Latin Proverb). Friday, 27 February 2015. Getting All Antsy Pantsy. It seems hard to imagine that I started my Explorer Series 7 years ago. In 2008, I signed up for an art quilt class at the NSW Embroiders Guild with Carolyn Sullivan in the vain hope that working in this genre would better suit me. I wanted to work smaller, more creatively and in series (. In effect - smarter. Does that sound a familiar refrain? 2 Coral Garden (32 x 38cm).

http://onthespurquilting.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

On the Spur Quilting. What we do in life echoes in eternity (Latin Proverb). Wednesday, 28 January 2015. Never a dull day. Nepal – what can I say! This was yet another wonderful experience to follow on from those great days in Delhi. Although I did stitch – very occasionally – most of my time was spent discovering the delights of this amazing country. If I had a day free, then I would catch a cab into old Kathmandu and walk my socks off. Hampered of course, by a broken leg…. But it will happen…. A Bright...

On the Spur Quilting : Bears in the Wild

http://onthespurquilting.blogspot.com/2015/03/theres-bear-in-there.html

On the Spur Quilting. What we do in life echoes in eternity (Latin Proverb). Thursday, 26 March 2015. Bears in the Wild. Arcadia, Maine: 2011. Inspired after my efforts with the New York Quilt (. It was quite the feverish high! I quickly took up another stack of memento fabrics I’d purchased in Bar Harbor ME whilst on a trip through the Arcadia National Park (7/9/10). This trip has special memories. I was on walking sticks having landed heavily on (and badly twisted) my ankle a few days prior. I never di...

On the Spur Quilting : Game for Colour

http://onthespurquilting.blogspot.com/2015/04/game-for-colour.html

On the Spur Quilting. What we do in life echoes in eternity (Latin Proverb). Sunday, 5 April 2015. Understand why I was smitten. The moment I saw Colour Game. I knew I had to have a go - one day. Aside from the colours, I saw a fantastic opportunity to use those lovely fabrics I had coloured in 2002 at the dyeing workshop with. Great, FINALLY using up fabrics from the stash and especially those not so easy to incorporate - hand dyes. At last, in April 2013, I made a start (. Who along with Mary Mashuta.

http://onthespurquilting.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

On the Spur Quilting. What we do in life echoes in eternity (Latin Proverb). Thursday, 25 April 2013. It's time to take a serious break from the computer (and my garden shed) to catch up on some research and photograph more interesting masterpieces of the textile world. Join us on the jolly ship Windjammer. Or check in with the Textile Tourist. From time to time to see what I've discovered, which will hopefully be interesting. New Years on the Harbour: 2012. South Pacific Drums: 1997. I planned to use fa...

On the Spur Quilting. What we do in life echoes in eternity (Latin Proverb). Sunday, 31 March 2013. Machine Embroidery Workshop: 1990. I managed to find a space on a machine embroidery workshop in Armidale (Jul 12-14 1990) with Wendy Wright ADVA which was quite exciting – and rather liberating as well. I learned to push my old (. Elna to its limits. Of course everyone else seemed to have a fancy Bernina, but it was still fun and came in good stead a few years later in Dover Heights. So with my mind burst...

On the Spur Quilting : Getting Organised…And in SLOW Order

http://onthespurquilting.blogspot.com/2015/03/getting-organisedand-in-slow-order.html

On the Spur Quilting. What we do in life echoes in eternity (Latin Proverb). Thursday, 19 March 2015. Getting Organised…And in SLOW Order. I’m now at the stage of having more unfinished than finished quilts to document and it’s playing havoc with my plan to list them by the year I started them…and then post in that same order. My plan has reached the term of its natural life and I’m starting to worry about OCD tendencies…. So, after much thought, chaos theory (. I will now post as I finish. It’s Ne...

On the Spur Quilting : No Quilting Here

http://onthespurquilting.blogspot.com/2015/04/no-quilting-here.html

On the Spur Quilting. What we do in life echoes in eternity (Latin Proverb). Sunday, 5 April 2015. I have omitted to put in a little about 2012, a busy year that slipped away without so much as a by your leave. This was of course, the big “Year of Flooring” when the kitchen, lounge and garden shed floors (about 1/3 of our house space) were re-laid. That meant significant upheaval, lots of dust and frequent blue language. The ripping was not a major issue and easily fixed. Then came the news that we were ...

On the Spur Quilting. What we do in life echoes in eternity (Latin Proverb). Thursday, 19 March 2015. So begins the epic kitchen reno.bring on that BBQ! January 2011 marked the beginnings of this OTS blog…. Now a big 4 years. 8230; and my early efforts to shape an unruly quilt list into an on-line album! It also heralded yet another Australia Day Exhibition (2011) so the midnight oil was burning to have MORE quilts to hang. On the Spur Quilting : Back to the Books

http://onthespurquilting.blogspot.com/2015/04/back-to-books.html

On the Spur Quilting. What we do in life echoes in eternity (Latin Proverb). Tuesday, 7 April 2015. Back to the Books. Spice Market is my last finished quilt and despite being almost there with another one, I won't be able to make it over the line before we take to the hills again. Somehow I've developed a backlog needing machine quilting or handwork. Not to mention finding time to take photos and do a little more research for my quilt album. Are there ever enough hours in the day? Back to the Books.

Voyages and Photo Albums. Thursday, August 13, 2015. Preveza – Just in time for the weather…. So, here we sit back in Preveza. With cleaning rags in our hands doing long promised chores and waiting for haul out. So where did that cruising year go? It seems only yesterday that we met with our Dangar Island neighbours, June and Paul, as they cruised through this area on their way south for the season. That cute cruise ship is back in Preveza. We’d left Kotor. Early and made for Bar to check out and leave (.
