Venturing: Observations
http://akadiashelties.blogspot.com/2015/01/observations.html
Sunday, January 25, 2015. My dad passed away 20 months ago. While it seems like yesterday to me, the time has passed and it has changed me so dramatically that I'm sometimes overwhelmed by it. I've had loved ones pass, both human and animal that affected me profoundly. Each one taking a large part of my heart with them and leaving me to grieve. The thing is though, that when my dad passed I don't think I was prepared (is anyone? For how it would change me. Step two. Oh my God, he is gone, , I'm alone!

Versa Shelties: USDAA trial
http://versashelties.blogspot.com/2009/06/usdaa-trial.html
Monday, June 22, 2009. I took her to the vet that afternoon and he told me that she had significant deterioration of the discs in the lumbar region of the back. He took x-rays and sent me home with drugs and the statement that she wouldn't be able to be active much longer. It crushed me. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Here I am running Gyp, the border collie of the bunch. We love agility! ADCh Angel's Olympic Gold. Hiking through red rock country on the way back from USDAA national.

Versa Shelties: June 2009
http://versashelties.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 29, 2009. Everyone is up and playing now. They all have cute little personalities so far and I am really looking forward to see how the pups grow up. The play sessions are really short right now, so hard to get pictures but I did get a few. Enjoy. Here is Bode killing the Santa dog. It's not dead yet. Julie really wants something on the other side of the fence. Polo and his favorite toy of the day, the reindeer. Play hard, then crash. Thursday, June 25, 2009. Big girl tired herself out.

Versa Shelties: July 2009
http://versashelties.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 6, 2009. Polo - He is very pretty, but I can't get a good picture of just his face because he is almost too big to hold with one hand and he squirms when he thinks he can get away. little brat. Polo playing with one of the toys I have hanging on the side of the pen. I like to hang things so the puppies get used to looking above their heads and having something above them. It has turned into stimulation to get them to climb, jump, and tug. Julie and Picabo playing with the screaming ball.

Venturing: Taking some time. Seeing Farrah's kittens
http://akadiashelties.blogspot.com/2009/09/taking-some-time-seeing-farrahs-kittens.html
Wednesday, September 23, 2009. Taking some time. Seeing Farrah's kittens. This picture is from last summer. The theme of today was calm down, take it slow. Course, I didn't realize that till the day was almost over. Funny how things force you in a direction sometimes that you don't really know of, till its almost over. I had ran, ran, ran, at least in my head, all day until tonight, as I went outside to put some bratwurst on the bbq, I realized that just for a moment, I had to take in the night sky.

Venturing: Goals,, what drives the dreams
http://akadiashelties.blogspot.com/2009/04/goals-what-drives-dreams.html
Saturday, April 11, 2009. Goals, what drives the dreams. Along the way though, I decided to breed Bell again. This time, to Ch. Hillviews Patriot Games. Four puppies resulted. Such a consistant litter, it was becoming evident that Bell was becoming a great producer. Her puppies all had a look, all were better then her yet possessed her virtues. Yay! Int Ch. Akadia Just Special (12 pts, both majors). The more I thought about it, the more I really began to make it a goal. Come time to breed Bell again, I c...

Venturing: The loves that move me
http://akadiashelties.blogspot.com/2009/05/loves-that-move-me.html
Wednesday, May 6, 2009. The loves that move me. Bean (top) Betty (bottom). I often reflect on the many animals that I have had through the years and how they have brought me through good times and bad. For a great deal of my childhood and certainly, my teen years, my animals were to be my support system. In times of uncertainty and insecurity, I could rely on them to give me affection and unconditional love. The first that I recall falling for was, April. She was my first sheltie. Looking one. She wa...

Venturing: Power failure ponderings
http://akadiashelties.blogspot.com/2009/08/power-failure-ponderings.html
Thursday, August 6, 2009. Click on the photos to see really big! To really "live" life. I feel as though I just don't have time. Work, work and more work and then exhaustion seem to be the carousel I am on. Sounds like complaining, doesn't it? Well, do know that I love what I do. I love the dogs and what that represents for me. Perhaps I am really "living" afterall. Doing what I love and not taking the time to appreciate it? Sparked by power failure are best left unthought. We got back a week ago from ou...
