Passage 1 - Huachuca Mountains - 3-15-2014. Passage 4 - Temporal Gulch - 5-2-2014. And crashed for the night. Oh, no ticket! Passage 4 - Temporal Gulch - 5-3-2014. And took off for the trail head which was 7 miles NW of the hotel. It was a peaceful walk out to the wilderness. We saw heaps of lizards, horses, cattle, a giant hawk and spent some time chatting up an old rancher. After about 19 miles of hiking for the day, we found a cozy spot up in the hills and slept underneath the stars.

This is a "basic" list of the gear I'm using on the trail. I'm constantly refining my systems, looking for better gear or making adjustments based on the specific needs of the hike. For example, for really warm hikes, I'll ditch the sleeping bag and replace it with a few simple warm layers. UPDATE: I've added back the sleeping bag, ditched toiletries,.
