Mischief in the Wine Country. Social Media and Marketing Strategist, working for 25 years in Communication and Journalism. Raised in Transylvania/Romania. Transplanted in the US. Living in Wine Country, California. Beaujolais Nouveau or What I used to Drink as a Child. I did not drink until two years ago. I still get tipsy from a full glass of wine. And since I started wine school and wine tastings, I could never find the taste of wine my dad used to drink. Until two weeks ago. If you want to try it, it ...

Or the one that went away and you’re still thinking about it? Well, for me the 2011 Russian River Valley Picket Fence Pinot Noir was both. Well, until yesterday, when we went to Bottle Barn and there it was, my porky-Pinot, my mushroomy-lover, my light-until-I-hit-you-with-the-spice Picket Fence. Picket Fence Pinot Noir.

Mischief in the Wine Country. A View Over the Picket Fence. Beaujolais Nouveau or What I used to Drink as a Child. My dad used to drink and my mom did not like it. But that’s not the side of the story I want to say. The story is that Dad used to let us, kids, taste from his glass. Face it: back in Europe we tasted from Dad’s glass and we ended up being way better behaved than our American peers. But I digress…. We tasted in class a flick of wines, and among them was a Beaujolais. If you want to try it, i...

Just another WordPress.com site. Something about my kids … →. March 28, 2012. This mug had a picture of a beaver on it, and written on the top was “Just one dam project after another”. To me it was hilarious. It was a play on words, and when you’re in your early teens being able to say a curse word, even the homophone for it, in front of your parents is pretty cool. The project list goes on and I sort of like (although I won’t always admit it) how it keeps improving things bit by bit. Bedroom – done.

It is an acronym, the name of a television network, and a slogan for at least one or two home improvement stores. It is also something I will be a part of this weekend. What we want to do is relatively straight forward: tear out carpet, put down new flooring and paint the room. You know as well as I do, something straight forward isn’t always straight forward. Here is what I have. The bedroo...

Wine Connections
Tuesday, November 11, 2008. Wine Blogging Wednesday 51: Baked Goods. I'm not much of a fan of sweet wines, but I enjoyed the results of participating in this month's Wine Blogging Wednesday. The topic is Madeira: The wine the American colonists drank (according to the Wine Bible we were responsible for importing a fourth of all the Madeira made.). I once had a wine that had been accidentaly oxidized. The wine had a distinct raisin flavor that grew overwelming as I drank it: an unpleasant experience!
