Okay, well this is not Paris but it possibly still holds some romance, namely my romantic notion that if I throw in my $85,000 a year job, give up my home and relinquish all possessions, then I’m free to be my authentic self and fulfil my true life’s purpose. Sound more insane than romantic? Sound like I’ve read too many self-help books? What is my life purpose? Oh and where the feck do I get my next pay cheque from?

Derek wore a faded Superman t-shirt and I wasn’t quite sure he could pull it off, but the longer we kissed, the less I thought about it and the less I noticed his halitosis. Hey, we’re not supposed to kiss till midnight, I warned. I’m just getting in some practice, he said. At midnight I’m gunna find someone I really want to kiss. No thanks. We need red.
