A Portrait of the Winemaker as a Young Man. My adventures in wine. April 2, 2010 in Uncategorized. Today was Good Friday. And most New Zealanders began their four-day holiday weekend. Even the winery was pretty quiet since the bottling crew. Were all off. For winemakers and cellar hands, however, there’s no such thing as a holiday weekend during vintage. So the entire winery was empty except for about the ten of us in the cellar and lab, which was pretty relaxing even if we worked. Other Blogs I Like.
