Desert Sagebrush Chronicles: December 2014
https://desertsagechronicles.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Occasional Pictures and Conversations. Wednesday, December 24, 2014. In other news – overall, 2014 has been a very good year for us! We shared many good adventures, for which we are grateful! Fred and I also quietly celebrated 21 years of marriage (25 years since that life changing first date) during another side trip to Flagstaff. Paintings – the best of all possible worlds! But you just never know so - add it to the list! Margie Puerta Edson, CFRE. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Desert Sagebrush Chronicles: January 2011
https://desertsagechronicles.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Occasional Pictures and Conversations. Monday, January 31, 2011. This week is "Brush and Bulky" week in my neighborhood. Twice a year each neighborhood inside the city limits receives a crisp blue and white flier from the Department of Environmental Services alerting residents to the special collection of items we aren't normally allowed to dispose of in our regular weekly garbage pick-up. It's the kind of stuff that one would have to pay to have someone pick up or leave at the city dump. Our plant mater...

Desert Sagebrush Chronicles: June 2014
https://desertsagechronicles.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Occasional Pictures and Conversations. Tuesday, June 17, 2014. The Gremlins are bothering me again. That mild feeling that something isn't quite right that I can't put my finger on to define. I’m feeling jittery, although I can't blame caffeine or lack of sleep. Must be those Gremlins. This is a feeling that comes over me when I’ve got too much to do and not enough time. But, it is also a product of feeling out of control – work, life and relationships – spinning just out of reach. From that point it is ...

Desert Sagebrush Chronicles: June 2016
https://desertsagechronicles.blogspot.com/2016_06_01_archive.html
Occasional Pictures and Conversations. Monday, June 13, 2016. Once again I find myself in the all too familiar place of trying to wrap my mind around yet another unthinkable. Tragedy. Unthinkable, unimaginable, impossible, really? If only it were so. And again we hear the all too familiar terms being tossed about in the media:. Let’s not trivialize or romanticize this. How about another small loser with a big gun? In his June 13 New York Times. Op-Ed column, “ Orlando and Trump’s America. Some actually a...

Desert Sagebrush Chronicles: August 2011
https://desertsagechronicles.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Occasional Pictures and Conversations. Saturday, August 6, 2011. Jane turns 88 today! Yes, there is cause to celebrate. Every day is a major accomplishment. Every sunrise she sees is amazing to us all. At 88 she is frail elderly. Her body has slowed down and in some ways, I think, her body has let her down. She continues much the same as always, why can't it? I can't imagine having her grace. We must have hundreds, no thousands, of images of us around a table. Birthdays, holidays, trips and random pl...

Desert Sagebrush Chronicles: Move it!
https://desertsagechronicles.blogspot.com/2015/11/move-it.html
Occasional Pictures and Conversations. Wednesday, November 11, 2015. I have noticed, I am not moving as much as I should. I am talking about me - moving through space - on a regular basis. This is not metaphysical, but rather actually physical. Yes, work, commitments, the weather and blah, blah, blah. So many excuses. But the fact of the matter is this: I've got to keep moving. My life depends on it. I've watched as my mother and my mother-in-law, slowly, stopped moving, as they aged. It is not pretty.

Desert Sagebrush Chronicles: Home
https://desertsagechronicles.blogspot.com/2016/11/home.html
Occasional Pictures and Conversations. Sunday, November 27, 2016. I always have to brace myself before going to visit my mother in her assisted living care facility. I'm not sure why this is true, I just know that it is. I brace myself and talk myself into going. Not because I don't want to see Mom - I always want to see her. And not because the place is unpleasant in any way - it is clean, safe and smells good. Only, it's not home. And Mom never forgets that it is not home. Pictures of family, pictures ...

Desert Sagebrush Chronicles: March 2013
https://desertsagechronicles.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Occasional Pictures and Conversations. Monday, March 18, 2013. Santa Rita Abbey – A pilgrim’s journey is just beginning. At the end of my time at Santa Rita Abbey, I feel my journey is just beginning. I have spent time with sacred text and in prayer. A constant quiet listening for the voice of God. I came to ask if I am on the right path and I think the answer is yes. It is not me. It is God working through me. It is not my burden. I am lifted up by God. My yoke is easy. Margie Puerta Edson, CFRE. Even t...
