10 reasons why I hated “Vertical”, the follow up to “Sideways” (which I loved) | graham's wine reflections

Graham’s wine reflections. Just another WordPress.com weblog. 10 reasons why I hated “Vertical”, the follow up to “Sideways” (which I loved). Before I begin my list, I’ll say a few things. 1 Suddenly, the unlikeable, but somehow still lovable Miles and Jack became truly unlikeable. 2 Jack and Miles switched roles, and not in a good way. 3 Who is Miles, anyway? In Sideways, which was followed by the movie, I really felt the casting of Paul Giamatti was spot-on. A lovable loser who didn’t have &#...I’...

Graham’s wine reflections. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Lavender “infused” Banana Bread w/lavender vodka drizzle. I love banana Bread, and have been playing with my recipe for years. Graham’s wine reflections. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Reviewing Roots Brewing’s 2005 Epic Ale. Now, onto the review of of Roots Brewing’s 2005 Epic Ale! One doesn’t just come across a 3 liter bottle of 6 year-old beer. There’s a story here, naturally. Fuggidabouddit. Chocolaty, silky smooth, and somewhere around 9% ABV, so you’d be tilted without even feeling like you were drinking! My name was called on number 12. On my walk up to the front to get my beer, I found $40 on the floor, which hel...

One guy's thoughts on portland's food scene. I’m really not sure what to say about Noho’s. I’ve lived in Portland for three plus years now, and always heard amazing things about this restaurant. It’s supposed to be. Place to get Hawaiian food. I think that based on my experience, I would disagree. Granted, it is good food, and really, I don’t have any complaints. But I was so underwhelmed by the place, I will have a very hard time returning, much less recommending it to people. I could go on, but I’...

One guy's thoughts on portland's food scene. Change isn’t always good. I sat to enjoy my food, and was quite disappointed to discover that despite extra curds and gravy, the large was no larger than my usual double. I also noticed a change in the flavor (not for the better) of the usually fantastic gravy, and an under-abundance of curds on top. August 7, 2010. Davis st. tavern. Blog at WordPress.com. One guy's thoughts on portland's food scene. An Unassuming Taco Cart. I’d driven by this cart probably hundreds of times in the past several years, and have never given it the time of day, nor stopped to give it a try. I was in desperate need of food the other day, and stopped in for a bite. I would bet you’ve never stopped and eaten here, and given the plethora of taco carts in this city, can understand why, but you need to. July 30, 2010. Davis st. tavern. Follow “wineandinepdx”.

A recent case brought us a random gem, the 2009 Dark Corner Durif. From Sam Trimboli. It's a nice, big red, with far more complexity than you'd expect from a relatively young wine. An indecision DIY life blog. Who the heck puts ice in wine? I’m Only Happy When it Rains. The running here in Seattle is SOOOO GOOD! Alex came to visit with our friend Kate!
