The Friday List, 5/6/11. Three (Big) Little Things →. May 8, 2011. At Zebra Sounds, we’re dedicating May to exuberant, heartfelt, sing loud – dance wild, revel-in-your-one-precious-life self-love. Last Monday, to counteract all the negative shit we tell ourselves daily, I suggested we write ourselves love letters. This is my love letter to me. Breathe. Listen. I have important things to say. Remember how it felt to lie down on the dunes and watch the clouds skim overhead? The important thing, the most im...

Hallowed Circle: Connectedness
http://hallowedcircle.blogspot.com/2012/08/connectedness.html
The Ebb and Flow. Wednesday, August 15, 2012. This world. You came. Of it, like a wave from the ocean. You are not a stranger here. In the whirlwind of greed and struggle for domination, we have become indoctrinated and enslaved. We have lost our sense of who we really are in relation to everything around us. We are brought up to believe that we are individual and separate from everything else. We are educated to become indentured servants to our own debt. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Symphony of Wonder: Elements of Mercy
http://symphonyofwonder.blogspot.com/2012/06/elements-of-mercy.html
If only I could leave everything as it is, without moving a single star or a single cloud. Oh, if only I could! Antonio Porchia, Voces, 1943, translated from Spanish by W.S. Merwin. Friday, June 22, 2012. Release (drawing by CFassett). The dry air was still. Until I caught the subtle whisper. Of coolness in a breeze. Turning, my eyes searched. Far to the south. And, reaching out. With all my senses. Joined my spirit to. The elements of the sky. There, tension mounted. As the vapor from. This work is lice...

Because you’re awesome like that… →. The Friday List, 4/29/11. April 28, 2011. My favorite quote this week…. If you ask me what. To do in this world, I will tell you,. I came to live out loud. Should you have hot cocoa? I have a cold. I think I caught it from this baby, who is clearly armed (with irresistible cuteness) and dangerous. There’s a life lesson here somewhere. Shakespearean (or piratey) insults! Do it yourself, Thou beslubbering, crook-pated canker-blossom,. Or use the generator. You are my da...

Hallowed Circle: Lemon Balm Soap: Part III
http://hallowedcircle.blogspot.com/2012/06/lemon-balm-soap-part-iii.html
The Ebb and Flow. Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Lemon Balm Soap: Part III. This first picture is of the entire five pound loaf of soap when I first took it out of the mold. And here is what it looked like when I cut it into bars! Sadly, the scent of the Lemon Balm didn't make it through the saponification process. But the soap smells like warm honey and herbal tea. So I'm still really happy with it. Plus, though it may not smell like my herbal ally, I know she's in there - and so do you. Lemon Balm Soap: Part I.

The Ebb and Flow. Tuesday, July 16, 2013. They have taken my Silence. They have taken my peace. The stags no longer come to feast upon the lilies. The dragonflies no longer come to hold their court. The trees no longer glow in the evening sun. The glory of morning is replaced by pounding racket. The forest is silent and angry. The walls of men grow tall. From within the depths, The Guardian growls. His eyes flash with fury - awakened, disturbed, risen. Too long has he waited. Too long has he slept.

A Wedding (in 5 parts). The Friday List, 4/29/11 →. April 27, 2011. Since stumbling onto doodle therapy. Last November, I’ve become a doodle zealot. I’ve always idly scribbled away during meetings and phone calls and. Arguments with my muse, but since November, I’ve committed myself. I doodle with glee, watching my unedited thoughts drop on to the page in visual form. It’s trippy. And fun. And, yes, therapeutic. Pam, trying out her new pens. (This one is hanging above my desk! Dillon, doodled in class.

The Friday List, 4/22/11. Doodle Magic →. A Wedding (in 5 parts). April 25, 2011. My nephew’s wedding is full of the things that weddings should be full of – love, flowers, promises, music, dreams, memories, champagne, cupcakes. (And bubbles! There are toasts, a flying bouquet, a garter shot through the air like a rubber band. There are pictures and hugs, tears and silliness. And through it all, they shine. They grin at us and we grin back, and our smiles encompass the world. I think of that when they cu...
