A Year in the Life of a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar. How to Become a Scholar. May 4, 2011. Elephant family and Mount Kilimanjaro. After our overnight flight out of Heathrow we arrived in Nairobi bright and early. We were surprised to find out that there were only 63 passengers on our flight, yet the aircraft could have seated 250-300! It wouldn’t have been good for the airline but allowed us to stretch out and try and catch some shut eye. We were shocked by the accommodation provided. Both of us had...

A Year in the Life of a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar. How to Become a Scholar. May 19, 2011. Masai Mara Part 2. After our visit to the Masai village we headed back to the lodge for some needed rest. We had been shocked by the ‘tent’ we were staying in- it was far larger than our flat in the UK and had a real washroom and office desk in it! Not what I pictured when I booked a tent! It was neat to see all of the animals huddling together and bedding down in anticipation of the rain. He swiped at her and ro...
