West Mendip Orchestra is a medium sized, friendly amateur orchestra. Our members come from a wide area including Bristol and Bridgwater, Wells and Weston-super-Mare. We perform three or four concerts each year from the classical repertoire. Our concerts often feature well-known local soloists and also young talented musicians early in their careers, as well as music composed especially for us. We rehearse from 7:45pm to 10pm on Fridays at The Lynch Chapel Hall. Open Rehearsal, Saturday 1st October.

West Mendip Orchestra, founded as Winscombe Orchestra in 1974 with 10 players, is now a full and thriving orchestra. We usually perform four programmes a year in Sidcot, Yatton and Weston-super-Mare. We are entirely self-funding, and also contribute to charitable causes. Our conductor, Nicholas Bromilow. Was appointed in 2015. Nicholas Bromilow, Our Conductor. Nicholas Bromilow is a born-and-bred Bristolian and has been a singer from a very young age. At the age of 7, he took up the Piano and 10, the French Horn. Nicholas made his debut in conducting at the age of 18 in 2009 with a complete performance of Handel's 'Messiah'. West Mendip Orchestra, 2009-2016.
