http://blindedmewithcomics.blogspot.com/2009/07/cover-me-frank-miller-at-dc.html
Friday, July 24, 2009. Cover Me: Frank Miller at DC. When most folks think of Frank Miller in the 1980s, they more than likely think of Daredevil, Wolverine,. Ronin, The Dark Knight Returns, Batman: Year One,. How many of you remember what Frank did to pass the time while he was working on those ground-breaking masterpieces, though? One thing he did was draw covers for a handful of DC mags. Remember any of these? What other comicbook work did the talented Mr. Miller do during the 80s? Contact the Groovy ...

Random Ramblings of an Absent-Minded Professor: The King’s Deryni: A Novel of the Deryni (2014)
http://randomramblings-absentmindedprofessor.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-kings-deryni-novel-of-deryni-2014.html
The Prof's Pull List. Tuesday, July 21. The King’s Deryni: A Novel of the Deryni (2014). And this is the latest-published in the venerable series, the sixteenth novel, the one which a couple of months ago I discovered had been published just before the end of last year, the prospect of reading which launched me onto the deepest re-entry into the quasi-medieval fantasy world created by Katherine Kurtz that I have experienced in thirty years or more. Recently previous posts [ LINK. Concluding barely more t...

Thursday, February 5, 2015. The Wild Gesse II by Daniel Carney (aka The Square Circle, AKA The Return of the Wild Geese). So every collector has a 'holy grail" an item that has been eluding them. There have been several for me, Decision for Dusty Fog, The Hardy Boys Survival handbook, The Three Investigators 39 The Case of the Wandering Caveman and The Wild Geese II. I'm glad I found a copy of the book and enjoyed reading it. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Hatchet Force Journal #1. E book Johnny Nickle.

Wednesday, July 29, 2015. The Search for the Golden Boomerang (1941) by Laura Bingham. I grabbed it to find out more about the story. The serial and the book were aimed at children and tells the story of a young Aboriginal boy Tuckonie and his search for the golden boomerang. I was surprised to see an Aboriginal lead in the 1940's (although Arthur Upfield's Bony series starting in 1929 had an Aboriginal lead). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Hatchet Force Journal #1. Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Farewell Nikola (1901) by Guy Boothby. With this I finish up the five Dr Nikola books by Guy Boothby. In many ways Boothby has taken us back to the first book A Bid for Fortune. Richard Hatteras is traveling with his wife Phyllis and his friend The Marquis of Beckenham who all appeared in the first book. The trio and Phyllis' companion Gertrude Trevor are visiting Venice when they encounter Nikola on the streets of Venice. Through the intervention of Gertrude, Nikola is persuaded t...
