and other thoughts...: 2016 Casco Bay Swim/Run Report
http://jojogetback.blogspot.com/2016/08/2016-casco-bay-swimrun-report.html
Sunday, August 21, 2016. 2016 Casco Bay Swim/Run Report. I first learned of the Casco Bay Islands Swim/Run in early January. I knew immediately I wanted to be a part of it. I love the Casco Bay Islands, having grown up in nearby Cape Elizabeth, and the thought of swimming to and running across each island sounded incredibly cool. Carrie and me before the race. Also, we couldn't run in bare feet, so we'd need sneakers. Did we carry them? For shoes I chose a pair of swim/run shoes made by ASICS. They were ...

Monday, November 7, 2016. IM Maryland Race Report. It's been five weeks since I raced in Maryland. Consequently I don't remember the experience as clearly as I once did. I find doing an Ironman is a bit like having a baby. After awhile you forget how unbelievably, horrifically, overwhelmingly difficult it was, and you start to fantasize about the glory of doing another one. Ironman amnesia! Anyway, five weeks out from the race what I primarily remember about IM Maryland is this:. I QUALIFIED FOR KONA!

Friday, October 14, 2016. Recap of Rev3 OOB Half. I know. I'm 2 months behind. So, I may be a little behind in my race recap reporting. Sorry about that. I know you all get on Facebook every day and just hope that this is FINALLY the day that I, Mary, will have updated my blog. Well, that day has come! The waiting is over. Unless you stop waiting a few years ago when I stopped writing at all consistently. In that case, well, SURPRISE! I have three truly exciting. Here's how the race went:. Here I am comi...

Thursday, April 21, 2016. Ironman Texas 70.3 Race Report. I know I never write anymore, and I'm done promising I will write more. I won't. Or probably not, anyway. I am very busy with a rather massive gardening project right now. In truth, I am trying my hand at being a farmer. I have pictures to prove it. Here are a few:. Seedling setup in the basement. Taking out trees to make room for the beds. Piles of compost to create the beds. What will be the vegetable garden. Maybe just Farmer Mary. I was a bit ...

Thursday, June 23, 2016. Patriot 70.3 Race Report. I did another race, so it's time to update the blog and brag about my garden. I inherited the Koi pond when we bought the house, but I re-did the border around it. It is my biggest source of garden pride at the moment. Our sharpei, Chica, is to the left in the picture.). Okay, I'm done bragging now. Onto the race. This season I decided to race three 70.3's, the Casco Bay Islands Swim/Run. I'm not giving up yet! I'm not slowing down! That kind of thing.

Thursday, September 24, 2015. It's Been Nearly A Year Since I Last Wrote. And a lot has changed for me. Some big things are the same:. I'm still raising three kids (now in 9th, grade, 6th grade and 5th grade). I'm still married to Andy. We climbed Mt Katahdin this summer and celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary. I'm still really into my dogs. Butthere are some big things that have changed:. We moved our family from Westwood to Medfield so we could share a home with my father-in-law, Jack. I have gotte...

Wednesday, January 13, 2016. Am I really back? I haven't blogged consistently for several years now, and I keep thinking I'm ready to start again. But then I write one post and fail to write again for months. I'm going to give this one more shot. I got this. I write to let you know. I'm a training goddess. First off, I hired my awesome business partner, Ange, to be my coach. She is awesome. Of course she's awesome! Would I be in business with anyone not awesome? Because I know you are very, very excited.
