Monday, July 28, 2008. To me, Summer means camping. Especially over the 3 day weekend holidays such as Memorial day, 4th of July and Labor day. Although we missed Memorial day weekend, we did manage to head out for the 4th and had a great time. It was the kids' first time camping and they loved it! Our July camping trip taught us a few things for all future trips. 1 There is such a thing as too many snacks (we're still trying to finish them off). Can you say "makeshift clothesline"? 1 1/4 cups flour.

Thursday, August 21, 2008. It appears as though our camping trip for Labor Day weekend is cancelled. We've been having some really rough storms here lately (especially in the mountains) with Tornado warnings and golf ball to baseball sized hail and have decided that it's just not worth taking the chance of being out in that kind of weather. That sure is a bummer! Was really looking forward to our last camping trip of the season. Hopefully we can get them to pick more than they eat! Posted by ;o).

Sunday, September 21, 2008. Tomorrow is the official beginning of the Fall season. I have mixed feelings about that. This will be our first Autumn here so it will be neat to see what the weather is like. I must say that I was quite surprised at the Summer weather. It was hot.dang hot, just like I expected but there was a whole lot more rain falling than I anticipated. And lots of wind too!
