Tracking all trail miles for the year 2011. Thursday, February 24, 2011. Region: USFS Road 6310 near Index, WA. Distance: 8.2 miles. Elevation Gain: 3540 ft. High Point: 3850 ft. This one was almost entirely in the snow; about 4-6" of powder on top of a really icy base. Jasper on Forest Service Road 6310. This portion of the trail hasn't seen the sun for months. Peaks on Jumpoff Ridge, 5300'. I made it approximately half way up the ridge. Peak on the Side of Gunnshy, 5600'. Headwaters of Bitter Creek.
