Lizette in the round – Knits & Wovens
https://knitsnwovens.wordpress.com/2012/07/07/lizette-in-the-round
8230;because there's always a story. July 7, 2012. Lizette in the round. With the powers of the internet, I can peak up from under my pile of Thesis with a little “here’s what we’ve prepared earlier…”. I actually started this post in January! I know there were other people wondering if they could do this great Anne Ginger pattern from Twist Collective in the round. Lizette, Spring/Summer 2011 Twist Collective. Modifications to do in the round:. Pick up and knit double the stitches (= front back), placing...

Knitika's Knit Fits: A grey tunic, all finished!
http://knitikas.blogspot.com/2014/11/a-grey-tunic-all-finished.html
Monday, November 17, 2014. A grey tunic, all finished! I finished my hand sewn tunic! It's a bit tighter than I'd prefer. I can't layer it over anything, or it puckers like it's too small. I lined, stitched, and beaded the hem. I decorated a pocket to cover the butt logo. It looks a little crooked on the dress. Oops. But I'm pretty happy with it! I'd stitch some more things to wear, but I'm mired in giftmas knitting for the time being. Nicely done, Val. And it looks great on you :). In my mothers name.

Knitika's Knit Fits: Prototype Dress
http://knitikas.blogspot.com/2015/01/prototype-dress.html
Saturday, January 03, 2015. So this starts with my interest in the All Saints Zeeda dress. I've been interested in making one. Except you can't make one. It's totally doolally. Someone bought the dress and counted and documented. The seams in it, and there's 33 panels. I don't know how it even came together. Look at this thing:. And I added sleeves, in hopes that the prototype would be wearable. Who needs sleeveless midwinter? I'm pretty happy with the results! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Number ...

Knitika's Knit Fits: The Taupe Dress
http://knitikas.blogspot.com/2015/03/the-taupe-dress.html
Wednesday, March 04, 2015. And here it is, the Inspired-by-Zeeda dress! It's not at all an attempt at a copy, it's an homage. It's a princess-seamed pattern from Alabama Chanin, designed for knits, with alterations and embellishments to the skirt. I cut two copies of the dress from the pattern, making a lining that had the main structure of the dress, but not the extra skirt action. Here's the inside:. Let me show you the back of the dress. And the details of the side panels:. View my complete profile.

Knitika's Knit Fits: September 2014

Tuesday, September 23, 2014. The Long and Twisted Story about The Chocolate. So I've made two trips to the homeland this summer. The first recreational, the second for an urgent family matter. During the first, I was looking for gifts to take home for the family, and so I picked up some local chocolate. For my husband, the exotic Raw Dragon Chili Chai, and for the kidlets, the guaranteed pleasers of a solid milk chocolate for her, and a raspberry dark for him. The day before he departed, I asked my siste...

Knit Sisters: February 2010
http://bunchoknitsisters.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 10, 2010. Just because she's beautiful. Tuesday, February 2, 2010. Meaner's Grandkids Get the Best of Her. I've been nagging Karen to bring over some of the finished projects she's made her great-grandbabies in the past. Here are some photos of a few things she made for great-grandson, Conner (who is a chip off the old block and could legitimately be dubbed "Meanerest" or "Lil' Mean"). The second one is a cool little baby blanket, stitched with a lot of love for the little begger.

Knit Sisters: April 2012
http://bunchoknitsisters.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 21, 2012. To labor is to pray. Motto of the Benedictines. Many, many people have asked me to sell or give them them a pair of Trudgers. I feel I'm a fairly generous person, but I don't sell or give away the Trudgers I make (except as gifts to close friends and relatives). This is a photo of a simple pair of socks with 48 stitches per sock making up each round. A Mexican Poppy in the garden. Mornings on the patio. The ability to see and use my hands. Wednesday, December 15, 2010. Girls' Knitting Club Winter Break Gathering. Here are some photos from our pre-winter break meeting with the Girls' Knitting Club. Presents were handed out to them from the Knit Sisters and presents were received from them by those of us who have spent the last several Wednesday afternoons teaching them to knit. Goodie bags loaded into the sleigh. The next several photos are of hands casting on and knitting. We weren't allowed to photograph the girls' faces. The Knit Sisters...
