1 ruby road: October 2012
http://1rubyroad.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 15, 2012. As I mentioned in my last post that we had finally taken the plunge and purchased our first home! We have spent most of this year looking and dreaming about our family home. my dreams were vastly different to my hubbies! Our house is the second we have had under contract in as many months with the first one not coming back with a satisfactory building and pest :(. I have been the primary negotiator in everything and it has taught me A LOT about sales people and myself! Most of u...

I have had so much fun sewing with the latest mama skirt fabrics. Here's a pic of some of the skirts that left for their new homes yesterday. I was tempted to keep the one in the middle ;). I've also sewn up OVER 150 little hand quilted coasters in the last 2 weeks! Hope you like it! It only took me 12hrs! The Lucky...

The Thrifty Garde Robe: October 2011
http://thethriftygarderobe.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
How To Add Our Button. Sunday, October 16, 2011. A little embroidery…. Can transform a boring skirt into something a bit special. Take one 70’s stretchy skirt…. 8230;add an old embroidery transfer…. 8230;and play around with stitches you got from an old embroidery book. It looks better on me than on the mannequin, but I never take photos of me if I can possibly help it! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Here's how to add our button. Kieralee's Garden: It's a Tablecloth No More!
http://kieraleesgarden.blogspot.com/2011/09/its-tablecloth-no-more.html
Sunday, September 25, 2011. It's a Tablecloth No More! My sister-in-law is currently taking a Dress and Humanities class in college and one assignment she had recently was to make a skirt out of a round tablecloth. I found this quite ingenious and had to make one for myself! Seriously one of the easiest things I've made. Warning: this project does contain math :). Measure your radius (7.9") from the point and make several marks. Cut the point along this line. And could stretch out. And you’re done! Subsc...

Kieralee's Garden: Rolled Fabric Flower Headband
http://kieraleesgarden.blogspot.com/2011/07/rolled-fabric-flower-headband.html
Monday, July 25, 2011. Rolled Fabric Flower Headband. I've also decided that this post will be a tutorial as opposed to my other posts merely stating where I got the pattern or simply showing a picture of the finished project. So here goes:. 2 corresponding fabrics of choice. 3"x3" piece of felt (approximately). Hot glue gun and glue sticks. 1/2" width braided elastic. 2 Jewels, rhinestones, or buttons. Feathers or tulle (optional). Cutting board or other surface to use while gluing. This step is optiona...

The Thrifty Garde Robe: May 2011
http://thethriftygarderobe.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
How To Add Our Button. Wednesday, May 18, 2011. This skirt was waaay too big, and dull. You can see where I had put a box pleat in the front but I didn’t like it very much so I unpicked it and started again. I saw this idea in Sew Subversive. Work even though the cord is very bulky.
