http://cultofthehead.livejournal.com/2681.html
Hobbit skull in tug of war. Hobbit skull in tug of war. Anna Salleh ABC Science Online. A diplomatic stoush between Indonesian and Australian scientists over access to the Hobbit-human's skull could be resolved by the end of the year. The team that discovered the Hobbit wants to analyse DNA from the skull, which could help settle how human the creature actually is. Jacob had previously challenged the idea that Hobbits were a new species of human and argued instead they were a sub-species of Homo sapiens.

A Conculturist's Library: conculture
http://conculture.livejournal.com/8914.html
This is just a brief listing of some books that i think are of particular value to conculturists for one reason or another. i'll note that there is a bias in this list toward books which describe Irish cultures, and toward low-technology environments. this is due to my own interests:. Guns, Germs, and Steel. Another special mention, though not so important for those conculturists who don't include language as a part of their concultures, is Describing Morphosyntax. And now some more of the bookshelf:.
