Who played bluegrass music were the Dillards and Flatt and Scruggs - both groups having featured on TV shows here. Eventually I met a few other pickers and was able to get a better understanding of the music and where it came from - as well as getting hold of some more material to listen to. Through this time I played in various musical groups, notably the Auckland based folk band El M'fud and then later with Wellington based Urban Renewal. Enjoying the regular weekly performances by The Seldom Scene.

July 12, 2014. I haven't been around for almost a year. My last blog post was about rushing to get to an interview. well, I got the job and for the past year I've been very happy working as a Science Lab Teacher for Kindergarten and Elementary, 1st thru 6th grade. And helping with middle and high school. I have great co-workers too and my work environment is good. The littlest ones pretend play yesterday that it was my Birthday and threw me a birthday party with play dough cakes. it was lots of fun!
