Siberian Baseball: May 2006
http://siberiaminnbaseball.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 26, 2006. Youth not being wasted on the young. Francisco Liriano for the Twins. Felix Hernandez for the Mariners. This is the reason I got season tickets. This is the reason I swapped for all the Mariners games I could get my hands on. This is the reason I'm a big baseball fan. I'm so excited I might leave early for BP. All of this and I can't find a single person to go to the game with me? Posted by Matt G at 5:18 PM. Monday, May 22, 2006. The Big Skirt goes yard twice. Good for Thomas. ...

Siberian Baseball: March 2006
http://siberiaminnbaseball.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 30, 2006. NL Central Wrap Up. Too many question marks. That's the problem in the NL Central this year. Too many question marks. Like, that screaming dude on late night television hawking his book on getting money from the government's suit question marks. The Cubs should be tops, but not without Prior and Wood. The Astros should be top three, but what about Brad Lidge and Roger Clemens? About the only team that's solid right now out of the gate is St. Louis. Houston has been there at the ...

Siberian Baseball: June 2006
http://siberiaminnbaseball.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 30, 2006. Thursday was a good night. Posted by Matt G at 11:55 PM. Thursday, June 22, 2006. Bert, Bert, Bert. I'm sure it's hard to tell sometimes when you play half your games in front of a crowd that is run by remote control via the center field scoreboard, but is Bert Blyleven this stupid? To set the scene, Joe Nathan is out in the bottom of the ninth with none on and two out against Lance Berkman. You think so," asks Bremer. I wish I could say he was kidding, but he was. Newton had his a...

Siberian Baseball: October 2006
http://siberiaminnbaseball.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 31, 2006. As the buzz started picking up over Japanese pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka, the first thing that came to mind was, "Didn't the Yankees already try this once? Name me a Japanese starter who made an impact and hung around long enough to be considered a good investment. Eh, big splash, quick fizzle. ESPNcom ran an article on Matsuzaka today and had a sidebar on Hideki Irabu. My favorite quote:. Posted by Matt G at 6:15 PM. Return of the mack. Four runs in 5 2/3 innings? Red Sox in '07.

Siberian Baseball: February 2006

Tuesday, February 28, 2006. AL Central Wrap Up. You know the rules - unless there's major upheaval, there's no reason to pick against the champs. Same rules apply here, even if I'd sooner play foosball with a self-severed testicle than watch another White Sox World Series victory. Quite simply, the Indians are the most dangerous young team in the AL this season and with the White Sox already playing with a bullseye on their collective back, the showdowns versus Cleveland should be a lot of fun to watch.

Siberian Baseball: August 2006
http://siberiaminnbaseball.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 24, 2006. Mike Timlin continues to underwhelm. I'm watching the Angels/Red Sox tonight and I can't shake this question from my head; Where have I experienced this sinking, sick feeling before? The feeling that as soon as a certain pitcher enters a game, regardless of the lead or how well the team's been playing that night that it can all go to shit so quickly that the skipper will be powerless to get the hook before the damage has been done? Where, oh, where? Posted by Matt G at 11:27 PM.

Siberian Baseball: November 2006
http://siberiaminnbaseball.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 30, 2006. Haven't we been over this before? Mike Piazza is on the market again. And it looks like his agency (I wonder if it's still the Beverly Hills group) might get it right this time. As I pleaded last spring. And in between taking pot shots at his representation on the sister site. Bonus points for being the very first baseball post at either site). Just for old times' sake:. Or maybe they can't make a few calls? Yeah, that was me. I'm going to stand by that. Yeah, I feel better n...

Siberian Baseball: April 2006

Friday, April 28, 2006. Wrigley Field - A playground for cocksuckers. If you've never heard this. You're not living, Pancho. WARNING - it is very vulgar and is also a sound file. For the text, head here. The now legendary Lee Elia tirade has been making the rounds for a while now and I'm always pleased when it resurfaces. Hulk Hogan's cartoon is over it on Youtube and Deadspin now and it makes no sense. However, the audio is more than adequate. Photo from goodhitter.com). Posted by Matt G at 8:03 PM.

Siberian Baseball: July 2006
http://siberiaminnbaseball.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 29, 2006. Countdown to the Trade Deadline. Just wrapped up its Saturday trade deadline special and as I don't have inSider with ESPN, I just jotted notes as Buster Olney gave away the top bullet points. I'm cheap like that. Bobby Abreu to the Yankees? Looks kinda sketchy. Would you want to be Philly's GM explaining this the year after letting Jim Thome go and watching him find new life in Chicago? Yeah, me neither. Brad Lidge to Rangers? Or if last year's post-season never happened? Also, ...
