On Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Fantastic night with a potluck dinner at the neighbors house and then we all went around the neighborhood in a big group. The boys got LOTS of candy all switched out by the mysterious Halloween witch. They will wake up to a new toolbox (for Will) and a Brio Travel Train (for Jasper). This isn't the actual fort, but it's the tall tree next to it where the boys probably should NOT be climbing! Notice, Joe's legs off to the side- he promises he was making sure they weren't going to fall). The Grand Ol' Mississippi. Sometimes, you just gotta take a break.and that's just what we did when we all hopped in the car and headed North to the cabin for the week. Ruby June and Lena, the wonder dog. Ely's Winter Festival included snow sculptures in the park. Snowmobiling out to the ice house.

Whenever I look at these photos, I laugh out loud. The last one especially helps me keep it real. PS I'm behind in posting photos.yes, these are from Easter. Whoops. Seriously, Ruby June just dazzles.she is full of energy, excitement, and light. She is running, smiling, and following her big brother wherever he goes. She is also exploring: yesterday, Kai yelled, "Dirt Emergency," and I came out to find her digging in my plants with dirt everywhere (including her mouth- yuck). Happy 14 months , Ruby June!

So, in a span of 3 weeks, way back in the middle of August, we decided to move to Grinnell, then packed up our house and set sail (well, more like the cruise control) for Iowa! Here is my favorite family photo of 2012. We are in the garage, in the middle of one of the craziest times in our lives, and we are still having fun! We spent many weeks up at the cabin, a week at a family reunion in WI, and swam, swam, swam! Then, we packed up the house, had a garage sale (we made over $1,000! Our new blue house!
