Snippets of Hoppyness: February 2010
http://hoppyness.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 22, 2010. I hope it's the start of a beautiful love of reading. You know who else loves books? Here's the book-loving boys. They are actually not bugging each other for a minute, what a surprise. (The black eye on Gavin? Cole hit him right in the eye with a plastic horse.) Ah, I will steal these sweet moments when the occasion presents itself! Sunday, February 21, 2010. It's hard to believe February is almost over. And I still never quite caught up on the blog, did I? Lexie helped me mak...

Monday, November 30, 2009. A Great Wolf Thanksgiving. Ever since we moved to Omaha, we have heard how fantastic the Great Wolf Lodge indoor water park and hotel were. We are trying to do all the major activities nearby before we leave, and figured it was time to visit Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City, Kansas. Last year we found out that the Lodge does a Thanksgiving Day buffet, and so we have been anticipating this for a year! We basically dropped our stuff in our room and headed to the water park! The ki...

Monday, September 12, 2011. School began midway through August for us, which was not any too soon for me. I honestly gave everything I had to making summertime a veritable whirlwind of fun, creative and educational experiences for my kids. And by August I was feeling a bit burned out. But what a summer we've had! And now it's time to move forward with a routine. Ah, sweet routines! And we can't leave Avery out! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Another Look Alike Meter. Saturday, December 26, 2009. Christmas Eve is my side of the family's traditional German Christmas celebration. This year Lexie and Gavin have been helping my parents do a special Secret Santa project. They have really enjoyed being a part of that and it has created some special memories. They also like being able to enjoy the efforts of their labors, like the chocolaty goodness all over Lexie! He liked to hang a few ornaments, but he kept sneaking away. And what comes last? Each child opens one present ...

Snippets of Hoppyness: A Wonderful Reminder
http://hoppyness.blogspot.com/2011/03/wonderful-reminder.html
Sunday, March 27, 2011. If you haven't noticed lately, my blogging has become nonexistent. Not because I wouldn't like to, but because my life has seemed so hurried and full to overflowing, and I rarely have a truly spare moment. (Because I am always neglecting to do something if I take a break! I hope you are all doing well if you happen to stop by and read this! By the way, here's a link. Thanks for sharing. What a great thought! March 29, 2011 at 2:50 PM. May 6, 2011 at 3:33 PM. Sure love you. Mom.

Snippets of Hoppyness: January 2010
http://hoppyness.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 29, 2010. Thursday, January 28, 2010. This is not a month I would care to repeat. I am not sure how you declare a month an official month for something, like the ones I found for January: "National Book Month," or "National Egg Month," or even "Prune Breakfast Month." (I mean, really, who declares that. But for us, this has been the official Medical Mishap Month. Not on purpose, by any means. I took off his coat and he ran across the room laughing. Since Tuesday, he must hear better, ...

Tuesday, March 30, 2010. Pictures turned out alright, but I had to take a bazillion to get a few good ones! Lexie was a doll, and picked out this very fancy Cinderella dress for Easter. She looked very pretty. Gavin was a little G.Q! He looked handsome, but as soon as we got home from church, he refused to cooperate for pictures and then peeled off the nice new clothes and put on scroungy ones. Patience.and he got dressed back up just for me. Oh well, come Easter, come Spring, come joy! Fun Day at the Zoo.

Tuesday, October 26, 2010. After several hours of increasing discomfort and nurses holding her down (even with sedation,) she was transferred to a high-flow oxygen tube by late afternoon Friday. Her need for oxygen had been decreasing gradually, and the transfer was successful. The transfer made it possible for her to be moved from her bed, and I could finally hold my little girl for the first time! She was much happier without the CPAP, and could sleep and be content, which was a huge relief to us all.
