Before you start umpiring with the action group, you will need to complete an umpiring award course, either the Young Umpire Award, Introduction to Umpiring Award or Level 1 Award. They are to work alongside the playing side Junior Development Centres which take place across Essex. By working together it means our Young Umpires will not have to choose between playing and umpiring, and get as many opportunities as possible to progress and develop in both areas of the sport.
