BEYOND THE IMPLODE 3 - BRITISH AIRWAYS 0. Friday, February 18, 2005. BEYOND THE IMPLODE VS THE BRITS (AND THE COUNTRYSIDE ALLIANCE). NOTE - Oh wow, two old posts fused into one. The good news is that, since these were written, Keane's popularity has slithered down the plughole - hooray! I mean, is this what we want British music to be remembered for? Apologies for having to read the 'puking girl at Slimelight' story again, I'd forgotten I'd also related it in the Goths post). It's simple isn't it, but yo...

You Are (And Pretty Much Always Have Been) My Sunshine. The new Silver Jews album, doesn't come out until October (weird, I reflexively started to write "Cocktober," a word that has never occurred to me before). Even so, I will go slightly and unncessarily nuts in my desk chair if I don't get my thoughts out on "How Can I Love You If You Won't Lie Down? GETTING WARMER AT 7/29/2005 12:57:00 PM. Oldham as Vital Repository/C&W Treatise 2. Big up to all the tender-hearted on this one, which finds me giggling and lost amongst righteous guitars. When I wrote on All Jacked Up. One day after hearing All Jacked Up. Sad musicians. At the time, Oldham seemed like the slacker apex of Jones's glow as a barstool catatonic and hopeless romantic. So when I heard All Jacked Up. Well-performed album (beat that, Most Music Made in 2005), but that if you knocked on my coffin, you'd still probably find Lost Blues.

This Is Also Sort of About Lil Wayne. I only post it here because I realized that we talk about Cat Power after Edith Frost but not Edith Frost after Cat Power, or really even Cat Power after Cat Power. Also, Edith Frost was in the "hot" Stycast and Lil Wayne wasn't. Also, "The Rain" was. Also Brad Shoup. GETTING WARMER AT 11/30/2005 09:44:00 AM. Peaks Lick Sky Like Flame Lick Sky. Either way, sitting here listening to Tha Carter II. He tells us he's hungry and he sounds like it (I eat a lot in wintertim...

Jesu - Silver (Hydra Head CD). The music still retains the sludge metal bruisings of Broadrick's previous act, but with corners polished to a fine sheen of.silver. Broadrick was a guy who seemed down and out towards the end of Jesu's run. Thankfully he appears creatively rejuvenated and has been in top form on all of the releases put forth by this particular project to date. Very curious to see where he takes it next. Daft Punk's publicist meets guest vocalist. Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" on Daft Punk's Discovery. Is a song that has had me so thoroughly knocked-out lately, that I feel compelled to document it. I've always been a Kraftwerk fan; it seems like die mensch-machine mythology that made songs like "Showroom Dummies" so incredibly moving and problematic never really got smoothed out properly. I still get pretty tearful when I watch Blade Runner. And to think that the robot has soul. Maybe more. At an...

MuTanT Culture DEATH Lives! Saturday, 21 March 2015. La Corta Notte Delle Bambole Di Vetro and Gli Occhi Freddi Della Paura - Ennio Morricone. I can't believe I haven't been alerted to or discovered this soundtrack until now. I somehow missed this when it first got released in 1998, only 27 years after it was recorded. I mean I know Morricone is a man of many soundtracks but why is this one remaining in obscurity? La Corta Notte Delle Bambole Di Vetro. The La Corta Notte. Or on A Lizard In A Woman's Skin.

Donnie and Joe Emerson - Dreamin' Wild. Finally getting a wider audience reissue treatment by the folks at Light in the Attic - more here. Found out about this record a little bit after its initial discovery, copies changed hands, I idly thought one would turn up when I least expected it. Now with the reissue it's gone from an eBay saved search that would ring up once or twice every six months to a daily occurrence. Ever stranger are the mass market writeups:.
