If you're new to this. Most Aikido training is with a partner. If you are new to Aikido, your partner will help you through the technique. You do not have to be fit to start Aikido, but the instructor should be told if you have any medical condition or disability. Correct clothing for Aikido is a white judo or karate suit. Aikido is unlike most people's idea of a martial art. It is not aggressive. It does not rely on strength. We train with a partner to learn together. Aikido is martial art for modern times, created by Morihei Ueshiba (O Sensei) who drew on his study of traditional Japanese martial arts. The word 'Aikido' means 'the way of harmony'.
