Comfy Homeschool: December 2008
http://comfyhomeschool.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, 13 December 2008. I like having educational cd-roms around for a bit of light entertainment; much better than pure games. Here are some of the best I have for KS1 or KS2 - please let me know of any more good ones! Jump Ahead French. Excellent product for 4-8s. Played enough, a child will learn their basic French numbers, colours, clothes, food, rooms of the house etc etc. Can't say enough good things. Play and learn science experiments. Just got into this one today. Simply virtual exper...Becom...

Hear Around Corners: Chiasmus for the Rest of Us
http://afctank.blogspot.com/2009/10/chiasmus-for-rest-of-us.html
Chiasmus for the Rest of Us. As a Libra, and in keeping with the current blog title about introspection and self-knowledge, it's time to delve into a little literary device called chiasmus. Why? Just for fun.and because it's a rhetorical technique that is still used often even though it's ancient in origin. Even connections to Christ on the cross have been made to the format of chiasmus, so it carries its weight. Here we go with a some examples I enjoyed from the wikipost:. John F. Kennedy. In peace sons...

Hear Around Corners: Marcel The Shell with Shoes On
http://afctank.blogspot.com/2015/01/marcel-shell-with-shoes-on.html
Marcel The Shell with Shoes On. This will make you smile (not a typical post for me). Marcel's been around a while, but he seems to be more and more popular lately, like the year when ironic, spastic, bizarre t.v. commercials became accepted as "oddvertizing". Like that but way more clever and adorable. The voice makes it, as does the quixotic dialogue, all provided by Jenny Slate. With husband Dean Fleischer-Camp. Enjoy! Comfy Homeschool: 'Caddie Woodlawn' - the verdict is...
http://comfyhomeschool.blogspot.com/2008/12/caddie-woodlawn-verdict-is.html
Sunday, 7 December 2008. Caddie Woodlawn' - the verdict is. A bit dull. It's hard to pin down why, but L and I have been manfully reading through it now for weeks, never quite finding the time for it, which certainly can't be said for the Little House books. There are huge similarities with LHITBW; Caddie Woodlawn grows up in Wisconsin in the 1860s; Laura Ingalls Wilder in Wisconsin in the 1880s. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
