Thought at the Meridian: Democrat First
http://thoughtatthemeridian.blogspot.com/2004/10/democrat-first.html
Thought at the Meridian. Centrist views on culture and politics. Monday, October 25, 2004. Soon it will be over. The US Presidential Elections. Which for many people I think will be a relief. Many people seem confused and bewildered, unable to find a canditate that suits their political outlook. And if I were an American citizen and had to vote (which I of course am not), I would probably give Bush a reluctant vote. The most important thing to many people is the belief in certain inalienable rights.

Thought at the Meridian. Centrist views on culture and politics. Thursday, July 29, 2004. Social Democrats USA, again. I was so happy when I found this statement from the Social Democrats, USA. Posted by Frederick @ 12:26 AM. Social Democrats, USA know the deal. There's more where this came from. Visit Social Democrats, USA. Posted by Frederick @ 12:05 AM. Wednesday, July 28, 2004. This is not Fascism. Let me point to a few differences between the current President of the United States and Fascists. ...

Thought at the Meridian: Shame on the UN
http://thoughtatthemeridian.blogspot.com/2005/02/shame-on-un.html
Thought at the Meridian. Centrist views on culture and politics. Tuesday, February 01, 2005. Shame on the UN. The UN still refuses to acknowledge what is going on in Sudan as genocide, something the US did a long time ago. By not calling it a genocide, the UN can keep on ignoring the atrocities. A report by a UN panel says the Janjaweed militia did commit acts of mass killings, rape and torture - but guess what, it still isn't genocide. Not according to the UN anyway. The way it is now, China with its oi...

Thought at the Meridian: A blogger's return
http://thoughtatthemeridian.blogspot.com/2005/01/bloggers-return.html
Thought at the Meridian. Centrist views on culture and politics. Sunday, January 09, 2005. So I’m back. For now anyway. New times, new blog-design. I have been away from blogging since November, as some of you may have noticed (I hope.). The reason I stopped was partly because I was so fed up of politics and the useless idiocy of the War on Terror-debate. Hearing deafitist and so called pacifist arguments from the Left that missed the point completely. Posted by Frederick @ 11:35 PM. Eh, I'm a bit embarr...

Thought at the Meridian: January 2005
http://thoughtatthemeridian.blogspot.com/2005_01_01_archive.html
Thought at the Meridian. Centrist views on culture and politics. Sunday, January 30, 2005. Up to 8 million Iraqis turned out to vote today. I was very glad to hear this. At last, democracy is truly taking root in Iraq for the first time ever. Hopefully, the new government will be on good terms with the United States, thus becoming a Western ally, and more importantly a democracy, in the midst of the Middle East. Posted by Frederick @ 9:53 PM. Wednesday, January 19, 2005. NO PLATFORM FOR TERRORISM. Has co...

Thought at the Meridian: February 2005
http://thoughtatthemeridian.blogspot.com/2005_02_01_archive.html
Thought at the Meridian. Centrist views on culture and politics. Tuesday, February 08, 2005. Shame on the EU. Former Czech President Vaclav Havel recently criticized the EU for its leniency towards Fidel Castro's dictatorship. It seems the EU has decided to ban Cuban dissidents from attending EU-embassies' receptions and dinner parties, so as not to disturb their relationships to the Cuban dictator - all in the name of European big business. Havel asks us to imagine what will happen:. It makes me furious...

Thought at the Meridian: Some thoughts in the aftermath of the presidential elections
http://thoughtatthemeridian.blogspot.com/2004/11/some-thoughts-in-aftermath-of.html
Thought at the Meridian. Centrist views on culture and politics. Saturday, November 06, 2004. Some thoughts in the aftermath of the presidential elections. So, finally the elections are over. I think it will be a relief for many people, whichever way they voted. Look, Bush did NOT get support only from the moral-conservative religious Right. And I refuse to think that my own position is THAT uncommon being a liberal of somekind, or centrist/centre-left, and yet still hoping for a muscular foreign policy ...
