Many of us married during the war, and a number of us continued flying for our livelihood. But we could never go back to the way we were. The WASP experience changed us all forever. I was thrilled with the book! It gives us a rare day to day insight into our lives as WASP. We had almost no contact with the antiaircraft men we were flying for. I discovered much I didn t know about the base even though I served there. The photos brought back many memories for me. WASP Helen Wyatt Snapp. Wilmington, NC 28409.

David A. Stallman was born and raised in Holmesville, Ohio, a small town of 350 people. After college and two years in the military he was employed by IBM. His career spanned 33 years which included technical writing. Soon after his retirement David wrote and published several articles about his motorcycle tours in the west. WOMEN IN THE WILD BLUE. As they succeeded in this mission, more risky and challenging pilot work was assigned. They towed aerial targets for antiaircraft gunnery recruits. Their assignment ended in December 1944 and they went unrecognized for their contributions until they were awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in March 2010.
