Wounderful women of the middle ages. Monday, May 16, 2011. Women with any authority were prioresses of covents or queens. The most important duties of a woman were her family’s social status. Lower class women worked at home or in trades. Most upper class women planned meals, supervised servants, and ordered supplies. While her husband was away she defended the manor and took care of it. FINALLY a woman was in charge! Women were also expected to teach young girls how to be a lady. Can Women Own Land?
