https://thewonderwomyn.wordpress.com/2010/02/12/the-girl-effect
For most of history, anonymous was a woman. – Virginia Woolf. February 12, 2010. What is the girl effect? The girl effect is a powerful social and economic change brought about when girls have the opportunity to participate in society. Driven by the notion that young women are likely agents of change in the developing world, but largely invisible to society. It’s simple: Investing in girls is the key to eliminating poverty and creating a better world. But, there’s hope:. When women and girls earn income,...

For most of history, anonymous was a woman. – Virginia Woolf. March 9, 2010. International Women’s Day. Yesterday, Monday, March 8, was International Women’s Day. Around the world, individual women and womanhood were honoured, celebrated, and remembered. Yet it is also a day to acknowledge that millions of women worldwide continue to be socially, economically, and politically oppressed and that the fight for equality, justice, and peace has not ended. Tuesday, May 30, 2006. Pablo Picasso spent some of his years in Barcelona. This has a special significance when seeing his work in the Picasso museum. After reading more about his art and life and seeing more of his works I have developed such an appreciation for the way he never ceased to create and experiment with new mediums. Before he died in his 80s he was making 4-5 paintings a day! Posted by Natalie Maxson at 11:40 AM. On the way to and from Barcelona we stopped to see some big caves that penetrat...

Wednesday, April 12, 2006. April Fool's day 2006 brought with it a great victory for the CERN-St.Genis-Meyrin women's rugby team. We drove up to Basel from Geneva (3 hour trip) and the weather could not have been more lovely. In fact many of us were stripping off our clothing on the field. It was our first match of the season and we won 45-0. Posted by Natalie Maxson at 3:54 AM. View my complete profile. Thats why I run. To: cars, From: bicycle. Ode to the Northwest Passage. Friday, December 09, 2005. Reflections about Jim Loney. Some friends and I were talking about the last hostage video and the green suit Jim appeared in. We hope he gets to keep the suit after all this. It is so stylish. Sometimes talking about little things or finding humour in crazy situations is what helps us to get through the days of suffering and waiting. I really want to see him again and talk about all the things going on in the world. When I feel lost in despair or paralyzed by helplessness a...
