Labor nurse has been reborn and shares her experiences as a new nurse-midwife, woman, and blogger. Sunday, November 22, 2009. This made my friend feel a bit like a multip reject.like she should have been able to know exactly the right times to actually present for triage evaluation or have had something requiring her to stay instead of being discharged still pregnant. And then 38 weeks. And you know how I read this? Why do I think this? Delivery by Labor Nurse, CNM. Sunday, November 8, 2009. I have been ...

Buns in the Oven: November 2010
http://bakingmidwife.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Buns in the Oven. Stories from a baking midwife. Sunday, November 28, 2010. As the Baking Midwife was busy this year helping babies into the world, we celebrated a day late. We had a quiet Thanksgiving sans turkey as opposed to last year when I hosted a large meal for 9. Big meals are great for the festivity and conversation, but quiet is nice too. More time for dwelling on food, drink and each other. Here is our meal in photos. Mashed Potatoes - a little lumpy unfortunately. Yeah that was my plate - Yum!

REBIRTH: Days Off
http://rebirthnurse.blogspot.com/2009/11/days-off.html
Labor nurse has been reborn and shares her experiences as a new nurse-midwife, woman, and blogger. Sunday, November 8, 2009. I have been finding my days off, be it a true day off or post call day, go by so quickly that they aren't enough. I feel the need to sleep in late, yet if I do I feel like I've cut off so much of my time off. I dread the sun going down and the need to start dinner because it means the day is coming to a close. Delivery by Labor Nurse, CNM. November 8, 2009 at 7:04 PM. Nemionice- th...

REBIRTH: September 2010
http://rebirthnurse.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Labor nurse has been reborn and shares her experiences as a new nurse-midwife, woman, and blogger. Monday, September 20, 2010. I've been contemplating whether or not to continue this blog- I took the hiatus for an undetermined amount of time, and found that about once a month I'd think- "Hey! This would make for great blog fodder! But never really end up putting anything together. Am I still burnt? Have I become jaded? I've tried to narrow down why exactly I've been feeling this way, and it comes down to...

REBIRTH: May 2009
http://rebirthnurse.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Labor nurse has been reborn and shares her experiences as a new nurse-midwife, woman, and blogger. Saturday, May 30, 2009. I received my credentialing packet (read: 6 inch stack of papers) for the hospital my practice is affiliated. But can't change that, so I have to do my best. What is great, however, is that I can start in the office seeing women while the process is being completed, so that will be good. Delivery by Labor Nurse, CNM. Wednesday, May 27, 2009. My last shift as a labor nurse was today, ...

Labor nurse has been reborn and shares her experiences as a new nurse-midwife, woman, and blogger. Saturday, July 6, 2013. It's been almost 3 years since my last post. For those of you who saved this blog in your reader, wow! That is some patience. Well, things have really changed since my last post. I've left health care entirely. Really. There are many reasons for it, some I still struggle with. But on a whole, I have found myself anew and very happy with this decision. Delivery by Labor Nurse, CNM.

Buns in the Oven: Balancing Act & Hearty Whole Wheat Tortillas
http://bakingmidwife.blogspot.com/2013/01/balancing-act-hearty-whole-wheat.html
Buns in the Oven. Stories from a baking midwife. Wednesday, January 30, 2013. Balancing Act and Hearty Whole Wheat Tortillas. Loving baking can be bad for the figure. Especially when you're someone who likes to bake with real butter and eggs. Full of flavor AND fat. I've been experimenting with many bread recipes recently but my body does not do well with scores of carbohydrates across the day. You always have to price compare here - it is not worth $22 for a jar of almond butter. In these pictures I dou...

Buns in the Oven: September 2010
http://bakingmidwife.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Buns in the Oven. Stories from a baking midwife. Tuesday, September 28, 2010. Something about the Way the Wind Blows. This week has been a blur of work, jet lag, and not very much baking or cooking. I did manage to squeeze a few homemade meals in between the naps and the trying not to nap so I can kick the jet lag. Maybe I'm more attune to the change since it's relatively new to me. Or maybe not. I love the change in flavors too. Pumpkin, apples, pears, sweet potatoes - yum! I went apple picking with som...
