Damage assessment in progress initial estimate of 77 homes destroyed, 22 homes have been damaged, 60 outbuildings destroyed and 69 outbuildings damaged. Approximately 145 properties evacuated (mandatory evacuation orders); affects approx. 362 people. Residences threatened 500; commercial properties threatened 0. 4,104 personnel on scene: 403 engines, 110 crews. On May 11, 2009 at 10:44 pm.

I said I’d be back with a post about Pascha and baptism, but instead I am back asking for prayers. Santa Barbara is on fire, again. This is the third major fire in the last 10 months, with the first fire burning 10,000 acres and no buildings, and the second burning more than 200 homes. The mandetory evac and evac warning areas. Lord have mercy on all those effected by the fire.

Yesterday, the faithful fire fighters were able to get full containment of the fire. I’m not sure if there are still hot-spots that are being monitored within the containment zone, but I would assume that is likely the case to some extent. Here is a link.
