Wondering Winterstein

Friday, May 27, 2016. I was seeded in wave 3 of 4 launches. Off the start line I began at a moderate pace, breathing deeply the air and realization that the moment I had trained 6 months for was at last here. Commence this outstanding bucket list item. Pace yourself and take it ALL in. The first 5k was a radical pitch of a corkscrew leading us straight uphill. Give high fives and ask for autographs. Stop being a wimp. Oh love," she replied, "let me buy you one! Like I really care. Here! So that I did, wi...

Wondering Winterstein: May 2015

http://wonderingwinterstein.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Monday, May 18, 2015. A Tribute to Donald Norman Morrison. He made me laugh, but also displayed keen empathy. It would be easy to say things like, "He was 95! My grandfather was a gardner. It may have been his farm boy roots, agricultural studies at Michigan State, or it may have been his proclivity towards a green thumb, but his work in the garden yielded vegetables that my grandmother would turn into delectable culinary delights. My grandfather was an explorer. As we would amble along grandpa would be ...

Wondering Winterstein: From Stressed to Steadfast

http://wonderingwinterstein.blogspot.com/2015/08/from-stressed-to-steadfast.html

Wednesday, August 19, 2015. From Stressed to Steadfast. Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.". This process is the embodiment of eustress. If the satchel is never submersed in the water brimming with heat energy, the full potential of the contents is never released. August 20, 2015 at 5:46 PM. Hot water i...

Wondering Winterstein: June 2015

http://wonderingwinterstein.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

Thursday, June 25, 2015. The Weaving of a Tale. Along the historical time line my students and I noted how geography and location were critical to ancient civilizations decisions and success. We observed how 19th, 20th, and 21st century historical figures often had to be "in the right place at the right time." One thing about history is the phenomenon that hindsight is 20/20. How many of these peoples of the past fully grasped their part in history in the moment? It is easier to see "the big picture" now.

Wondering Winterstein: July 2015

http://wonderingwinterstein.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html

Friday, July 24, 2015. I was engaged in my typical head talk. Should I run my hometown 5k or 10 miler? That was the question. Two weeks earlier I recorded my slowest EVER 5k (although I have not seen the official splits because my running partner is no doubt trying to save me from mental self-berating.) I secured third in my age division scoring a fabulous glass, but shook my head as it was an ugly accolade save the awesome glass and beauty of finishing. So what to do? Which race to run? As I promised I ...

Jaana's Writing Blog: March 2015

http://jaanaswritingblog.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Thank you for visiting with me! The table is all set. I woke up early so that I will have time to visit with you. Coffee is served, but I might prefer tea if it is early in the morning. I am drinking Yorkshire tea. What is your beverage this early in the morning? I add a little milk and place a piece of toast on the plate. I click away while I wait for you to come. Our connection is so strong that I don't. Even have to leave my chair. To visit a few friends. Be brave and fly!

Observations on life and moments suspended in time. Workaway: An Alternative Way to Travel and Is It for You? October 30, 2015. When I chose solo travel to Taiwan for the first time, I chose slow travel. I chose Workaway. If you’re interested in budget travelling, you might’ve heard the term circling the annals of the Internet, glimpsed on LonelyPlanet forums, or shyly nestled among Reddit backpacking threads. If you haven’t, read on! But What Is It? 365 Days Away From School and What I Learned. One of t...

The Wondering Witch

Saturday, August 25, 2012. Almost a Year and Still in Doubt. It's been almost a year since I have posted here last. I had been meaning to do so for a while, but kept putting it off. It's been a rough year for me inwardly as I had struggled with my depression and anxiety issues. Good self esteem and confidence have always seem another step away as I go on this entire year continuing to discover who I really am. Sunday, September 11, 2011. I know I'm a day late. Ended up forgetting. To let their tears fall...

Wondering Witchy Eye | This is real life… NOT Hollywood

This is real life… NOT Hollywood. My books of reference and use. My General Altar/ Spell/ Ritual tools. The witch behind the blog. Why I don’t follow the rede. I’ve been told a few times that I’m an affront to pagans because I don’t follow the Rede. I used to think it was just newbies, but then I learned that it was also coming from “well seasoned” pagans from various paths and witches who haven’t learned to differentiate between and Wiccan practices that a witch chooses to use and Wicca. The Rede itself...

The Wilburs

Thursday, September 12, 2013. Well 9 months later I finally decided to come back. We welcomed our sweet, baby girl on December 10, 2012. She weighed 8.9 lbs and was 20.5 inches long. The Lord blessed us with a good eater and an even better sleeper. Someday soon I'll share how that day went down. For now here's some pictures over the last 9 months. Meet Riley Paige Wilbur! We are so blessed! Friday, December 7, 2012. A Farewell for Now. I'm sure my Sister. Monday, November 26, 2012. I'm going to have a ba...

Wright Travels

Saturday, December 31, 2016. Wandering With The Wrights. It has been almost a month since the last blog - how time flies! We had two more weeks on our NOMADS Mission Project in Ray City, GA. We replaced 12 very old windows and each one had to be custom fitted. The guys did a wonderful job removing, replacing, sawing and trimming the windows. The ladies removed nails, caulked, primed, removed nails, painted, washed and did I mention removed a lot of nails! We passed this house every day - looks like a two...

Tuesday, March 1, 2011. Recap of the Cases. Here at DHS this is a silent issue in my opinion. So many people get the casual slap on the butt or even further actions as a joke and the girls usually respond with a playful laughing stop. Well, in this case she did say no but does she mean it?
