PAINT OUT: PROJECT DESCRIPTION

http://wonderlandshow-15.blogspot.com/2009/09/project-description.html

Sunday, September 13, 2009. PaintOut is a collaborative work that allows the participant to create a virtual graffiti drawing on any reflective surface. PaintOut facilitates the creation of temporary street art and graffiti, and because of this, it allows the normally marginalized street artist to participate in the current contemporary art dialogue without defacing or damaging public property. His eyes brightened and he set his bottle of liquor on the ground next to the parking meter telling us to all hold hands. So Eric, the lush, the trans-sexual and I all held hands nearly joining a circle until Eric said we need to touch the wall, so we did. There the man gave a Really amazing prayer! CENTS

Tuesday, February 2, 2010. Here's some photos of Home Away from Home. At SOMArts. It was up December 11 2009 through January 23, 2010. It was great to exhibit it inside after Wonderland, as it gave us the opportunity to exhibit the drawings that we used to design and build the sculpture. These drawings were made from kids at the Boys and Girls Club Tenderloin Clubhouse and the Tenderloin After School Program during several workshops we hosted in 2009. Posted by barry beach. The installations are accompanied by a postcard that provides the audience with information to the four locations on a map, including the sites of all other projects participating in the exhibition.

PERSONAL GEOGRAPHIES

Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Sunday, September 13, 2009. Personal Geographies researches the urban map of the city, and how citizens use their “assigned” urban territories, how each social group exerts its territoriality, and how the majority residents and visitors react to the constant reminder of a misery they ultimately share. While the performer walks the TL streets, the borders between art and “real life”, private and public, inside and outside, artists and audience is blurred, the per...
