Musings of a novice. My history of woodworking. Basket twist door handles. Kinda like any tool – get the right one for the job and things go a lot easier. I tried to carve a few items using the palm tools, but I found that my wrist and hand started cramping in just a few minutes worth of carving. I managed to finish the projects and was overjoyed with what I could do – carving wise. Now, it wasn’t great artisanship, but I liked it and that’s what matters. And found that the site is a. Musings of a novice. My history of woodworking. Basket twist door handles. For a while, I have been reading and following the carving projects on a wood carving site by Doris Fiebig and Mark Yundt. I now have the time to really get into carving and started looking for a learning project. I’ve always liked the panel. That Doris carved but I don’t have a good place to start something that grand. When Mark posted his carving of Madonna and Child. This is what the carving looks like at the present time.

Woodcarving and whittling fun and games. December 16, 2013. Opens a mixed bag of confusion. There’s the accomplishment. Pride in a work well-done (debatable) and with minimal bloodshed (hopefully). Given to someone as a present or simply polished and shiny and new on your trophy shelf. But I did that. This entry was posted in Unc...

Woodcarving and whittling fun and games. November 18, 2013. Have you ever been in a situation where someone asks about your personal preference but liking two music genres is somehow problematic?
