After planing down, I attached a small piece of walnut in the back that would act as a drawer stop to prevent the drawer from pulling out. I screwed it in so I could effectively turn it on or off by rotating the piece around the central screw. End table construction and finishing. On November 21, 2013. Posted in: End Table. Blog dedicated to woodworking projects of a medical student. On February 6, 2015. Posted in: Jewelry armoire. I set upon this task utilizing sketchup to play around with the design. I included in the design 6 drawers with solid wood separators. I wanted to highlight various natural woods and used curly maple for the legs and top. The sides of the box utilize knife hinges for strength with the bonus of them being more or less hidden. Larr; Constructing and Finishing End Table 3. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

There may be difficulties, but the idea of something new and challenging gets my blood pumping. So, here is the state of transition at my workbench. Top Down | Life to Scale

https://starshipmodeling.wordpress.com/2014/12/03/top-down

A glimpse into my scale modeling hobby. My history as a modeler. I was fortunate enough to squeeze in minutes of work here and there the last couple weekends and made some great progress on the top of the Republic Cruiser. I was back in my comfort zone of primarily paint work. The instructions called for a lot more variation from the base color for some of the details. I just felt that it looks better with a more monochromatic look. I mostly used variations of light and dark ghost gray. Dig into the Past.

Interceptor Time | Life to Scale

https://starshipmodeling.wordpress.com/2015/04/28/interceptor-time

A glimpse into my scale modeling hobby. My history as a modeler. I have fond memories of the TIE Intercepor from the first time it appeared in. Return of the Jedi. To spending hours playing Lucasarts’ TIE Fighter on my parents’ old PC. I even had the original Kenner TIE Interceptor, and it was one of my only Star Wars toys that still had a working noise maker. Something about the shape of the wings looked sleeker and better than the standard TIE Fighter. An attempt to get a closer look inside the cockpit...

Gold Fever | Life to Scale

https://starshipmodeling.wordpress.com/2015/07/31/gold-fever

A glimpse into my scale modeling hobby. My history as a modeler. Starting on decals and small details. I have been holding off on painting the cockpit so I can match the color to the decals because it is a unique shade of blue. I plan to paint the ship up in the guise of Gold Leader. A Brief Interlude | Life to Scale

https://starshipmodeling.wordpress.com/2015/02/21/a-brief-interlude

A glimpse into my scale modeling hobby. My history as a modeler. Typically, I will start thinking about my next project as I finish up the current one. I have a couple cubbies full of kits on my to-build list, and I always debate about what to do next. As I finished up the Republic Cruiser, I concocted a plan to start working on the remaining FineMolds. My current selection of FineMolds kit's. Then something happened: The combination of birthday gift money and Bandai. I succumbed to the siren song! With ...

Republic Cruiser by Revell | Life to Scale

https://starshipmodeling.wordpress.com/2015/02/12/republic-cruiser-by-revell

A glimpse into my scale modeling hobby. My history as a modeler. Republic Cruiser by Revell. This kit, including lights, required the biggest time investment of anything I have built yet. Several times throughout the process of building I wondered whether the finished product would be worth it, and the results have indeed been impressive. A few thoughts on the finished kit:. One tip if you buy the lighting kit: buy some extra red hookup wire. I ran out pretty quickly. For finishing touches, I added a lig...

Tiny Cockpits | Life to Scale

https://starshipmodeling.wordpress.com/2015/07/20/tiny-cockpits

A glimpse into my scale modeling hobby. My history as a modeler. I love painting tiny little people and cockpits. Usually, on any sort of ship model, the cockpit and pilot is always the first step. This step involves lots of tiny detail painting and waiting for the paint to dry. I find a lot of satisfaction, however, in watching the progress as the mini figure comes to life. The process for the FineMolds Y-Wing has been no different. Gold Leader standing by. It was filed under 1/72 Y-Wing. Notify me of n...

FineMolds TIE Interceptor | Life to Scale

https://starshipmodeling.wordpress.com/2015/06/08/finemolds-tie-interceptor

A glimpse into my scale modeling hobby. My history as a modeler. Once again FineMolds produced a great little kit. Straightforward with no big surprises, the TIE Interceptor kit looks great on the shelf next to my FineMolds TIE Fighter. A close-up view of the front of the cockpit. Some great detail all over this kit. In addition, I only minimally weathered this kit with a wash and a few smudges here and there. Imperial fighters are just too replaceable to be around long enough to show a lot of wear.

https://starshipmodeling.wordpress.com/author/jasontiearney

A glimpse into my scale modeling hobby. My history as a modeler. First Order of Business. Everything is looking rather Imperial-y on my workbench, as I just recently finished Bandai’s First Order stormtrooper and have started on the First Order TIE. I chose the now iconic TRAITOR! Look for my trooper for now since it is so different from any trooper look we have seen before. He looks great, with the only minor complaint the blobby looking fist hand.
