Thursday, January 30, 2014. Thursday and a Snowy Owl. The weather has been bitter cold here, and not over the freezing mark for days. There is promise of some warmth in the forecast soon! Sunday, January 26, 2014. I took this shot a few days ago not far from my home. It was a dark gray day, and these eagles were about 250 - 300 ft. away up high in this Sycamore tree. very cold here this morning. At 6:30 it was -6º. More snow on the way. Have a great day everyone and stay warm. Saturday, January 25, 2014.

Woodynook Creations: April 2014
http://woodynookcreations.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 24, 2014. My little Bantam hen Marigold hatched out 3 chicks on Easter Sunday. They are adorable, and I sure won't have trouble remembering their birthdays. I took a walk on the creek trail this afternoon, and really didn't see much. The skunk cabbage is out and some wild onions. That was all. Not even any wildlife. We've had some warm days, but no warm rain yet, and Tuesday we had snow again, so things are still hibernating I guess. Hope all is going well for everyone. Looking upstream o...

Woodynook Creations: Sunday morning and the creek trail.
http://woodynookcreations.blogspot.com/2014/04/sunday-morning-and-creek-trail.html
Sunday, April 13, 2014. Sunday morning and the creek trail. Most of these shots were taken along the creek trail I walk. It is a gorgeous day, although really windy, and a good time to survey the damage done after the ice jam on the creek this winter. This is the creek looking West, or downstream. That tree leaning over the water is a Sycamore tree, and has been leaning like this for many years. Looking upstream or East. The only wildlife I saw were these two male Mallard ducks. No Skunk Cabbage yet.

Woodynook Creations: Sunday June 29th
http://woodynookcreations.blogspot.com/2014/06/sunday-june-29th.html
Sunday, June 29, 2014. I have had 3 Chipmunks spending time beneath my bird feeders. I don't think this one can possibly get any more sunflower seeds in his pouches. Maple leaves forming have the most beautiful red color. One pair of my homing pigeons have decided to nest in the rafters of the barn, and these are their first offspring. I really don't have room for any more, but The parents won't come back to their pen inside. sigh. Chicory is in full bloom, and it is one of my summer time favorite flowers.

Tuesday, June 18, 2013. I know I probably have posted this before, but it is one of my favorites, and I haven't any new ones recently. I'm so sorry if I haven't been visiting my favorite blogs lately like I want to, but I have been preoccupied here at home, so I might not be posting as much as I like to. Please bear with me, and I will be back. To see more barns, drop over to see Tricia at http:/ bluffareadaily.blogspot.com. Friday, June 7, 2013. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Woodynook Creations: Thursday
http://woodynookcreations.blogspot.com/2014/04/thursday.html
Thursday, April 10, 2014. Finally the weather has moderated here, and I think maple syrup season was a big success. Many sugar houses were really up and running full time this season. I took this picture the other morning on my walk with my dog, and the sun shining on the trees and the ground made everything take on a reddish tint. We got rain later that day. At first I thought the Sugar House was on fire! April 10, 2014 at 11:32 AM. Lovely pictures. The Crocuses are such a bright spot in early spring.

Tuesday, April 30, 2013. This week I have been out a bit more, and found this pair of Blue-winged Teal on the edge of a small lake. I almost missed them as they blend in with the ground so well. This is another lifer for me too. Here is the male, and of course as soon as I stopped to take the picture, they headed for the water. Out and about I spotted this Mockingbird. Something I never see. It was flitting about in the leaves, and I almost missed it. Here he was giving me the "Evil Eye". Guess it was ti...

Woodynook Creations: March 2014
http://woodynookcreations.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 26, 2014. This was the view the very first night from our hotel balcony looking out over Tampa Bay. Another view from the balcony. Busch Gardens, Tampa Florida. Sea World, Orlando, Florida. A mama Orca and her baby. I wish I were still there. The weather was perfect. This morning here it is 6 deg. and we got another 1" of snow last night bringing the total for this season to 177.5" Not an all time high, but enough believe me. Have a wonderful day.
